I know, I know... random; short. But I liked it enough to put it up here. I was bored, and what else is there to do when one is bored rather then to hop on your laptop (YAY!) and write?

R&R if you like it.

YESTERYEAR

Luther smirked down at him- the gun in his hand cocked. He walked slowly to him, and pulled the mask back.

"Well, Flash, I doubt even you could manage a joke now."

"I wouldn't bet on it," The hero wheezed, before coughing blood onto the rug. Luther didn't mind. He simply smiled more.

"They aren't coming. You'll be dead within seconds." Flash didn't respond, and Lex found this comical. He slapped him in the head with the barrel of the gun, and the man collapsed. His soldiers pulled the limp man up. "Any last words?"

"You suck!" Flash replied. Luther grinned.

"Good-bye." He pulled the trigger, and the man slumped in the grasp of the men. Blood smattered his red hair. His recently revealed vibrant green eyes dimmed. His ever-worn grin faded.

TWO YEARS LATER

"It's been two years." J'onn mentioned casually, flying to his side. Clark nodded slightly. He smiled.

"And we made it so something like that will never happen again." He agreed.

--

ONE WEEK LATER

"-Their Flash is still alive." Batman said.

"And their Luther." Superman grumbled in anger.

--

SIX HOURS LATER

"Whatever he does from now on is your fault!"

--

THREE HOURS LATER

"You sold us out!" Diana accused. Batman nodded slightly.

"But I saved Flash."

--

TWO DAYS LATER

"Batman, alias Bruce Wayne, is in Justice Lord custody for treason." Superman announced to the buzzing press and cameras.

Lois Lane glared as she scribbled on her notepad.

--

ONE HOUR LATER

"Why did you do it?" Superman demanded gruffly of the prisoner within the cell. Batman glanced up. "You knew that we'd eventually get our powers back- that you'd pay."

"I did." Batman agreed. He leaned his head back. "And it was worth it."

--

ONE HOUR LATER

Superman pondered Batman's words as he stared out at space.

Was it all really worth it?

--

THREE HOURS LATER

Wally slid beneath the covers, his red hair wet from the shower. His closed his vibrant green eyes. As sleep overcame him- his grin never faded.

--

ONE HOUR LATER

Batman closed his eyes- knowing that any minute the retired boy scout would come with his eyes blazing.

Yes, though. It was worth it.

SHORT? Yes, I know. Sorry about that. Liked it this length, though.
