Just a little oneshot of an Edward and Nessie bonding experience. I might write more about Edward being a Daddy, longer than this maybe. I'm not sure, tell me what you think.
Edward and Nessie belong to Stephenie Meyer.
I took her to the closest empty parking lot, it was Sunday, so the grocery store was not open for the day. Of course, I really didn't even haveto teach her how to ride a bike, what with her advanced ability to observe and her quick reflexes. She could simply teach herself by watching TV. But part of me still wished that she would need me. Nessie took off on her own almost immediately after I showed her what to do. I didn't even have to hold on to the back of the bike while she peddled nervously like the fathers and daughters in the works of fiction. When my Nessie started to veer a little too far to the left, I caught the bike easily, putting it on track again. My daughter swatted my hand away impatiently, I want to do it! I want to do it myself, Daddy! Her soft voice told me in her head. I tried not to show it, but my heart seemed to break a little. She was riding in circles now, a look of determination on her delicate features. She was like me in many ways, I dread the day she asks for a car. She was so independent.
