Another Round Of Goodbyes
"Posters hung on building walls
Of missing faces
Months go by without the calls
No clues or traces"
- All These Lives by Daughtry
It had been months since he'd last seen her face and it was killing him. It was killing him to think that somewhere out there, she could be hurt or in danger or worse. It was killing him to think that maybe she'd disappeared herself - on purpose - and was perfectly fine.
As of yet there'd been no calls and no sign of her and she very well could have left of her own free will. He could understand running away. Perhaps she did not want to go through another confronting round of goodbyes. Perhaps avoiding it was the only way she could cope.
It made sense, but it wasn't how Inara would act and he had a stronger feeling that something was wrong. Terribly wrong. If there was anything he trusted it was his gut.
They'd keep searching for her, until they found her. They'd keep searching for her until they found her - even if it took his whole life. He had to see her again. He had to.
