Officially Gone Insane
"Are you completely out of your mind?"
He throws a sheepish look her way and shrugs. "I had to do it, Scully. I couldn't not."
"Really? Really, Mulder? Because I think you could have easily left things alone and not done…that!"
"Oh, really?" he throws back. "Tell me then, what should I have done? Should I have just ignored him? Should I have let him talk down to us, talk down to the X files like that? Should I?"
"Yes! That's exactly what you should have done. He's going to be even worst to deal with when he finds out what you did. We'll be stuck to these desk jobs forever and the X files, without us around to keep it alive, will be buried and forgotten. Never mind that what you did will in no way help us or the X files."
"What? Slipping Kersh laxatives in his coffee won't help us, Scully? In what twisted reality are you living in?"
Scully frowns, plants the palm of one hand over her face to hide the almost smile she can't quite elude. "Yep. You've officially gone insane."
"Don't. Don't…say a word." She clenches her jaw. "You'd better start praying he doesn't find out."
