When I Sleep
I don't live when I'm awake.
Yes, I walk, talk, eat, provide the others with someone to laugh at…
That's easier than letting them see what I know and what I feel about what I am …
But when I sleep,
It is me that comes up roses.
Iam the one with the power to survive.
When I sleep I'm in the arms of my mother, see the smile of my father,
I can fly.When I sleep,
When the nightmares prod the deepest corners of their minds, I see no fear.
When I sleep I can combat any wizard who opposes,
When I sleep I can fly, I can fight, I can strive, I can win.
But then I wake.
A/N: Ever since I tortured his parents so severely in The Gang of Four I have owed something to Neville Longbottom. Please let me know if you think this is a viable (if quick) dip within his mind.
29th November 2001: slight typo corrected.
The character of Neville Longbottom belongs to J K Rowling and anyone she has since chosen to share him with.
