Combustible. Sam had always considered it a good description of Dean. He welcomed the fire, burning brighter because of that volatile nature. Fire had touched all the Winchesters, but in Dean it had found a kindred spirit.

Dean allowed the fire to cover him, soak him, and somewhere within the agony it drove him onwards even as it used him up, leaving him gritty and desperate and ultimately victorious. But it demanded more from him each time, took something from him that was hard to replace. Dean didn't seem to care.

And Sam? The lit match that sparked the tinder.
