That Sneezey Feeling
Summary: It always began with a little tickle in his nose. Troyella.
Currently Watching: War of the Worlds (2005), Spiderman 3
Notes: I came up with this idea earlier and... well... It seemed funny and I never write fluff so... I hope you like it.
It always began with a little tickle in his nose.
It was the kind of tickle that was really more of an itch. The kind of itch you would scratch if it wasn't in such an... awkward place. Not that your nose is something particularly awkward, but since the itch is usually inside than it'd be kind of... well, gross to scratch it.
The tickle always began along the edge of one of his right nostril and rapidly spread back through his nasal passage, seeming to toy it's way around the hairs. It expanded into his sinuses and suddenly the whole front of the inside of his face felt heavy and itchy.
Something in his body forced him to take a deep breath and...
Now, usually the only things that made Troy sneeze were dust, overdoses of pollen or when the air was just way too dry. For some reason, he always sneezed twice, which was weird, but he had learned some time ago that it hurt more to hold back a sneeze than to just wash your hands after, so whenever he had to sneeze, he just did. He always felt a lot better afterwards. All the itchiness left and all he felt like he needed to do was rub the side of nose (for unknown reasons) and take a few deep breaths.
But anyway-- usually the only things that made him sneeze were dust, pollen and really dry air so he really couldn't figure out why he always felt like sneezing every time he hugged Gabriella.
It would be totally fine at first-- Gabriella in his arms, him holding her close. Then all of a sudden that little tickle would appear along the edge of his right nostril and he prayed he wouldn't sneeze. The tickle spread back, exploding into his sinuses. He shut his eyes tight, twitching his nose in an attempt to get rid of the itch.
"One second," he would always manage to say as he let her go before turning around and...
The most embarrassing time this had happened was when he and Gabriella were lying in the hammock behind her house. They were so close, staring up at the clouds through the leaves of the tall oak tree. Her hair smelled like a mixture between honeysuckle and strawberries and she felt so delicate in his arms. He held her closer, trying hard to breathe in as much of her scent as possible.
Suddenly, the tickle appeared. Crap.
Gabriella giggled. "What're doing?" she asked as he began twitching his nose.
Damn it, it was going further back.
"Just a second," he choked out and turned away from her.
"Troy, are you okay?" asked Gabriella, running her hand over his shoulder. Troy rubbed the side of his nose and took a few deep breaths.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Are you sure?" Concern sparkled in her chocolate brown eyes.
"Yeah," he said, smiling at her.
She looked at him for a second, still worried, but then shook her head and smiled, lying back down in the hammock.
"It's it lovely out today..." she said, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes.
He settled back down beside her, slipping her arm under her neck and around her shoulders and pulling her closer to him. She gave a little sigh and nuzzled her head into his chest. Her smell overwhelmed him. She was so lovely. Everything about her was just so sweet and she was so kind.
Smiling, he shut his eyes and buried his nose in her silky black hair.
He didn't care if he sneezed again.
"Just a second."
"Are you okay?"
Meh... That didn't turn out as well as I wanted it to. I came up with the idea earlier today and thought I'd write it down. I hope y'all like it.
