This story is back! Still no idea why it was deleted. If it was deleted on purpose, please, can you tell me what I did wrong before deleting it again? I mean, it's only common sense, right?
Disclaimer: I own nothing. Paprika belongs to Sony Pictures Entertainment, and I suppose the original characters belong to Yasutaka Tsutsui.
"That went well, I thought," Chiba said, focused on the screen.
"I can't believe how well patients respond to her," Osanai gushed, flicking through the clips. "You're truly a genius, Dr. Atsuko."
"That would be Tokita," she replied dryly, watching the red-haired girl skip across the monitor. "He's the genius, I'm the shrink, remember?"
In truth, though, she was a little frightened by the Paprika persona. It seemed less of a guise and more of a... a person. Her inner scientist shuddered. It is not a person with unknown motives, she reminded herself. It is a computer-generated construct that uses my more... repressed personality aspects to help the patient relax and open up.
In any case, it's an absurdly simple cliché. No one like that could exist in real life. The fearless eighteen-year-old redheaded 'dream detective', all-powerful, all-confident, so bubbly, like some idiotic teen superhero- she could not be real. Even if she was- she's nice, right? A sort of Nancy Drew? But she's not real. Of course not. This was all just idiotic paranoia.
There's nothing to be afraid of.
"Of course not," Paprika said, leaning over her shoulder to look at the screen. "Why should you fear me? I'm you!"
