A/N: I just yesterday said that I had no plans for anything HP after 'You tell yourself', I didn't realise inspiration would strike the next day...

I watch you watching him, and I know. I recognise that look bubbling behind your eyes; it is the same look he gives her, the same look my brother gives that boy with the fraying robes. It is the same look I give you.

You tell me that you hate him, and I want to believe you. Because, if that's true... but it's not. If you hated him, you wouldn't be constantly sneaking glances at him during meal times, wouldn't frown so much when he insults you, wouldn't slink off to watch his practices, wouldn't wash your hair three times a day.

I want to hate you for it. How stupid are you that you think he would ever even consider clambering off his pedestal, and into the mire for you? You, and I, we are different than him. But we-- you, and I-- are alike. And you refuse to recognise that, refuse to recognise the way we fit together so perfectly, as if we were cut from the same stone.

I have read some of those forbidden muggle books my brother keeps; one of them speaks of how humans used to have two heads, two hearts, two people before the gods cut them apart. We are all wandering this world looking for our second half. And how frustrating it is to find you, and find that you want nothing of me.

I know you don't care for me-- I know this--, but I still watch you. I watch you watching him, and I know. The question is: do you?

Kudos to anyone who knows what Sirus' forbidden muggle book was. Thank you for reading; I hope that it wasn't too weird, or confusing. I would be much obliged if you reviewed.
