It just came to me randomly today, so I decided to post it up here. And for those of you reading my other story, I'm not totally dead. I'll try to update as soon as I can.

He didn't get it. Why was it so funny?

Byakuya thought over the previous events of the day as he took his regular afternoon stroll. Today, Renji had asked him a simple question: "What's your favorite color?" And, of course, Byakuya gave him a simple answer: "Purple."

He scowled at the way Renji doubled over with laughter. With his scowl intensifying, Byakuya only stalked off, saying nothing else.

He didn't have to explain himself to him.

Byakuya sighed in subtle frustration. What was wrong with purple? Sure, it was a rather feminine color, but he had his reasons.

First off, purple was the color of royalty and of respect. He was certainly royalty and of course, he was well respected by everyone. Well…everyone except Renji, but that was beside the point.

Byakuya Kuchiki loved purple. Those were his reasons and he would stand by them.

He looked over to the side to find the one and only Yoruichi Shihoin resting in a tree, gazing into the sky. Her eyes slightly enlarged and her lips parted a bit. She turned her head towards Byakuya and gave him a cat-like smile.

"Hey, Bya-bo!" She yelled over to him.

Byakuya rolled his eyes and played along.

"Hello, demon-cat."

She flashed him that all-too familiar grin of hers and continued looking into the sky.

Byakuya let his eyes travel to her long purple hair held up in its usual ponytail.

Perhaps he could add another reason onto his list…
