She checked her lip gloss in the mirror and tried to ignore the two sulking vampires currently in her living room. She smoothed the front of her dress and smiled at herself in the mirror. She might as well get them moving. Her heels clicked on the hard wood as she joined them in the living room. Eric looked very handsome in his black suit. The bright red tie added a festive touch. Pam of course looked gorgeous as always. Her knee length red suit was the perfect holiday dress. They looked like a Christmas card with Sookie's deep green dress completing the look. She retrieved her purse from the end of the couch and smiled.
"Why do we have to go?" Eric complained again.
"Yes, Sookie. I think this is asking a bit much."
"Not mine." Eric mumbled as he stood from his chair.
"Tough." Sookie flipped her hair at their sour faces and pulled her coat from the closet. Eric helped Pam with her coat while Sookie checked the time on her cell phone before slipping it in her coat pocket.
"You must realize that this is just going to cause trouble." Pam tried to reason with her again.
"It won't. Now come on, I don't want to be late."
"I'm only doing this because of you and for the record; I don't see why you're making me. I'm not a Christian." Eric grumbled as he reached out to take her coat from her hands.
She turned on the two of them and placed her hands on her hips.
"Look. It's Christmas Eve. We're meeting Jason at church. It's an hour out of your life and to be honest, if any body on this planet needs Jesus, it's you two. So suck it up! We're celebrating the birth of Christ and you're going to behave and like it."
"Its times like this I wish the myths were true." Pam sneered as she walked toward the porch.
"Can it, Pam." Sookie groused. Eric shook his head and thought about the absurdity of him and Pam sitting in the pews of Sookie's church being forced to take part in their new found Christmas Eve tradition.
"Don't worry. Lightning won't strike you. Jesus will let anyone in. Even a pair of heathen vampires. Besides, you just might learn something." Sookie smirked just before Eric locked the door behind them.
