A/N: Takes place during a town meeting in 2x20. Rory apologises to Taylor during the town meeting and not at his store.

A/N: It's always bugged me that everyone blamed Jess for the car crash and Rory never really got the chance to correct everyone. So here's my spin.

"Is there anything else that needs to be discussed tonight?" Taylor asked, silencing the crowd with his gavel.

"Taylor, I just want to apologise." Rory stood up and addressed the older man.

"For what, dear?" Taylor asked gently.

"Well, my car hit the bench with your brand new Doose's sign on it and I know how much it meant to you-"

Taylor shook his head. "It wasn't your fault, Rory."

"What do you mean?" She asked, genuinely confused.

"Well, you weren't driving the car, hon." Lorelai chimed in.

"Yeah, but it was my car-" She turned to her mother.

"Rory, dear, that hooligan Jess is to blame." Taylor said.

"But he didn't-" Rory turned back to face Taylor.

"He's the one to blame for all this."

"No, he didn't-"

"He's the one that crashed your car, not you so-"

"He didn't!" She was getting frustrated.

"Excuse me?" Taylor asked, somewhat shocked by her outburst.

"Yes, he was driving, but he's not to blame."

"Honey…" Lorelai said gently.

"No! I'm sick of everyone blaming him. I was in that car too. It could've been me behind the wheel and everyone would still blame Jess. It wasn't his fault and I think it's really unfair that you're blaming him for something he had no control over."

"Well, just goes to show what kind of a driver he was." Taylor said, throwing knowing glances at the citizens of Stars Hollow.

"He's a good driver. This animal jumped in front of the car and he swerved. Anyone would've done the same thing, unless you're a sadist and like hitting small animals!"

"Rory, calm down-" Lorelai said, putting a hand on her daughter's elbow. Rory shook off her mother.

"Jess is a good driver, and a smart guy. Yes, he causes trouble, but he would never hurt someone and if you guys had spent this past year getting to know him or at least giving him a chance instead of storming the diner with pitchforks and stoning him wherever he went then you guys would know that." She finished her rant and stormed out of the dance studio leaving behind the very stunned citizens of Stars Hollow.

Extremely short, I know. Not much to review on, but still, tell me if you liked it or not.

Jess is the bomb. xD
