We, the Sparky Army, decree 2008 to be the Year of the Spark. We pledge to post a new sparky story or chapter of a sparky story every day from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008. Though the Powers That Be have removed Elizabeth Weir from the regular cast of Stargate Atlantis, we feel that she remains an integral part of the show, and that the relationship between her and John Sheppard is too obvious to be ignored. We hope that you and anyone might happen to read these works, agree.
And if that isn't official enough for you, we don't know what is. Seriously, guys, we're just trying to have some --and show TPTB that Sparky is the way to go. So sit back and enjoy the 366 stories coming your way!"
AN (sparkly): So in this ficlet John and Elizabeth are for some reason temporarily on Earth staying at the SGC. I couldn't figure out why nor did I find it important or easy to mention. Therefore, whatever reason can be completely made up in your mind. Hope you enjoy the next story in the Year of the Spark.
John quickly slipped in through the door, grateful that for one reason or another, Elizabeth had left the door unlocked. He shut it softly and moved to the bed.
It was pretty late in the night and she was asleep. He had been on a mission by request of SG1 during their stay, and was not scheduled to be back until tomorrow afternoon. It had been a whole week since he'd seen his girlfriend and he knew she'd be upset if he waited till the morning to show himself, so he'd stolen off immediately for her quarters.
She looked beautiful sleeping peacefully. Too bad he was going to wake her up. He leaned forwards, placing his mouth next to her ear. He softly whispered her name. "Elizabeth."
She stirred just a brief moment. "Hey Beth, open up those gorgeous green eyes of yours." He gently rubbed her bare arms.
She blinked in the dark and immediately a smile crossed her face. "John," she breathed, sitting up.
"Hey there, I –" he didn't get to finish for her lips had captured his in a sweet kiss. He grinned when they pulled apart. "Nice welcome back."
"I missed you."
"Missed you too. Missed being able to do this." He pulled her close and kissed down her jaw before finding her lips again.
"How was the mission?" she asked after a minute.
"Almost relaxing actually." She snuggled close, blanket wrapped around her shoulders, while he told her about the locals. She chuckled when he mentioned him and Mitchell teaching the locals to play poker.
"Are you staying here tonight?" she asked.
"If you want me to."
The responding kiss was answer enough. "I like you holding me when I sleep."
As she moved to change positions, the blanket that had been around her slid off and John was privileged to see just what she had been wearing to bed.
He grinned. "Since when have you had those?" While she normally wore cotton pants and a t-shirt, often enough one of her red ones from work, tonight her chosen attire consisted of a tank top and silk shorts that exposed her long legs.
She smiled almost seductively at him, eyes twinkling. "Glad you like them. I've always had these, but I have to be ready for an emergency on Atlantis. This is hardly dignifying."
He laughed. "I don't know, you'd probably have even the bad guys following your every order. I'd love to see what you'd have them do." He grinned wider. "So you wore them just for me?" he teased.
She raised her chin and looked at him in an imperial way.
"Ah ah ah Doctor Weir, no trying to be dignified with me right here right now." And he pulled her up into his arms and swung her around the room before landing on top of her on the bed, She was giggling and squirming in a most undignified way.
When she stopped trying to escape, she looked into his eyes, smiling widely.
"Thanks for the midnight surprise."
"No problem," he said, before leaning down to kiss her again.
