"Why won't you let me love you?" Yohji pleads.

"Why do you think love is the answer to everything?" Aya replies.

Yohji averts his eyes.

"Love isn't going to magically make everything go away, Yohji. It's not going to make us stop feeling miserable and guilty. It's not going to make the world into a kinder place. We'll still be killers, trying to find a way to justify ourselves. We don't deserve love."

Yohji never argues, always just smiles.

"I love you," he says simply.
