A Speed Racer fic.

...

Disclaimer: Don't own Speed Racer, just bought the movie is all.

...

A/N: Okay, so I was pissed off when Racer X didn't reveal himself to Speed at the end of the movie, so I decided to write my own ending. It's sappy and rushed, but I didn't wanna change it, so here it is!

I hope you like it! I'll write longer ones soon, this just popped into my head, and I had to get it down before the inspiration was gone.

Anyways, enough out of me!

As always, please read and review, I live for feedback!

I don't even know why I do it anymore.

As he moved expertly around the track, images flashed through his mind's eye. Of Racer X telling him he gets in the car because he's driven, not to drive. He weaves his way around the other drivers, perfectly focused, but at the same time, in another place. In his own memories.

He sees so many things in such a short time, he barely has time to comprehend it all, but somehow he manages.

His whole life is laid out before him, all his choices, all the things he loves.

He sees the day that Rex took him to the track, and let him drive with him. He remembers the day that Rex left, and he'd been so sad. Then the day that Rex had died, and his world had ended. The rise of Racer X, his own suspicions about the secretive, but incredible racer. Racing with him, feeling that incredible familiarity. Speed couldn't control what he was thinking, or what his brain was revealing to him, but he could control where he was going, and how he was getting there.

He was going to win this race, win the Grand Prix, for one person.

He pushed the Mach 6 further and faster than he'd ever been, with the images of two seemingly separate men in his head. Rex. Racer X.

He knew they were the same, they had to be. How else could he know the things he knew?

Jaw clenched, determined, he flew past the remaining competitors, with one thought on his mind.

This is for you, X. I finally figured it out.

Tada ... the end!

So, what did you think?

Love it, hate it?
