Disclaimer: I do not own liar game. It is a great manga though.

They were finally done with that game. Justice was served and the company was under could finally go back to the dearly missed monotonous routine of life.

Visiting her father in the hospital, going grocery shopping on the weekends and soaking tissues during her favourite soap opera.

Nothing adventurous or dramatic, she would just spend another day in solitude. The only surprise she hoped for was discounted tunics at the local boutique.

A knock on the door startles her and she spills a little water onto the countertop.

"In a minute!"

She hurries to unlock the door, assuming that the landlady had arrived to collect the rent for the month.

But instead, she finds Akiyama standing there unfazed by her disheveled appearance. "Surprise."

The door slams in his face.

"Wh-hy are you h-here?" The shocked girl had one hand clutching her thumping heart while the other trying to smooth down the frizz in the hair.

"Open up, then we'll talk. I came to speak with a human being, not a wooden door."

After dusting her skirt once more, she pulled the door open to let the irritated man in.

His stony gaze at her brought chills down her spine. Despite spending the last couple of weeks together in that mad mansion playing the game, she was still a little wary of the genius that had now casually taken a can of cola from her fridge.

"It's good to see you, Akiyama-san." Her efforts at alleviating the tension were laughable. "Have you been eating well?"

He shifted his attention to the nervous Nao fiddling with the skirt hem and sighed.

"Relax, I'm here to pass you your reward money. It's a cheque for one million yen"

Her eyes widened and she was about to reject the money but he cut her off.

"Just take it. Think of your father."

Nao didn't know what to say to her benefactor. This man had saved her from a heap of debt and now, he even gave her money! If she hadn't met him, she would have probably been sold to a brothel or even killed herself. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes. "Thank you"

He replied a single "hn". "His answer to everything," she thought. Although he was harsh, strict and honest almost to a fault, she found all those qualities endearing

His temper showed his caring side.

His rules only meant to protect her.

And his blunt and tactless words were his way of joking and teasing her.

"Akiyama-san, would you like to stay for dinner?"

Her blushing face quickened his pulse and suddenly the room felt a little stuffy.

"Fine, but I don't like spicy food."
