Voldemort was dead.

Finally, the dark lord was no more. At the final battle, evil was at long last struck down. All was well.

Not.

As soon as Voldemort had fallen, the ministry rose. Laws began passing. Everyone from the youngest house elf to the oldest half-blood was restricted. Of course, the pure-bloods in charge had actually learned from past mistakes. Unlike before, the movements came subtly.

These days, all anyone lower than pureblood could do was to accept whatever demeaning job they could get. Barely able to afford the simplest of commodities. Magical creatures? Hah! They couldn't take a shit without written permission from a ministry official. Everyone just accepted the tyranny as doctrine.

Except one group.

Beyond the boundaries of your city's lights,

Stand the heroes waiting for your cries.

They were few...but powerful.

So many times, you did not bring this on yourself...

Led by the symbol of the light, their goal was simple.

But when that moment finally comes, I'll be there to help.

To end the reign.

And on that day, when you need your brothers and sisters to care,

I'll be right here.

Their movements were shadowed. Quiet. Hiding in plain sight, they aided all under their watch.

Citizen soldiers, holding the light for the ones that we guide from the dark of despair.

Standing on guard, for the ones that we shelter.

We'll always be ready, because we will always be there.

When there are people crying in the streets.

When they're starving for a meal to eat.

Innocents on the verge of complete and utter despair would suddenly find themselves in a warm bed with full stomachs.

When they simply need a place to make their beds.

Right here underneath my wing, you can rest your head.

They were everywhere.

Citizen soldiers, holding the light for the ones that we guide from the dark of despair.

Standing on guard, fro the ones that we shelter.

We'll always be ready, because we will always be there.

Everybody lived with the hope that they wouldn't need the intervention. They counted themselves lucky that the group of silent guardians had never come to them.

Hope and pray...that you'll never need us but rest assured we will not let you down.

But they knew. They knew that the moment the need came, they were protected.

I walk beside you but you may not see me.

The strongest among you may not wear a crown.

Standing tall, these sentinels of the commoners watched over all...

On that day when you need your brothers and sisters to care...

I'll be right here.

They were few...

On that day when you don't have the strength for the burden you bear...

I'll be right heeeerrreee.

But they were strong.

Citizen Soldier...

Holding the light for the ones that we guide from the dark of despair.

Forever watchful...

Standing on guard for the ones that we shelter...

Always protecting...

We'll always be ready...

Forever...

Because we will always be there...

Citizen soldiers.
