A/N: Drabble title taken from "Weight of the World," by Saliva. If this lyric isn't Dean I don't know what is:

And I'd tell you this, but I don't know how,
And I'm cavin' in and I'm fallin' out
And I can't resist and I can't rebound
With the weight of the world as the world falls down.

Word Count: 100 on the nose. Imagine that.

Summary: E/O CHALLENGE. Drabble Word: COVER. This one is angst, pure and simple. Dean takes the weight for his family.

Not the best time for a sparring match. Sam's off brooding somewhere; Dad needs to let off some steam. They've been at each other's throats for days, and Dean's had enough.

Dean leaves himself wide open. The first blow stuns him, rocks his head back. He backpedals, remembers to block and cover.

John doesn't pull his punches. "You're getting sloppy, Ace."

Take it out on me, Dean thinks to himself. Just me.

He takes one blow after another. The motel room they stayed in. The school Sam never got to go to.

John backs up, and Dean nods slightly. Again.
