"I'm gonna tell!" the six year old yelled down at her tormentors. There were four of them, each a pint sized terror. And today was yet another day of picking on their favorite victim.

"Go ahead Tiffy Sissy!" one of the boys yelled.

"Yeah, you tattle tale dumbo!" a compatriot commented. Tifa's eyes started to water and she was soon bawling. One of the boys started to climb up the playground equipment, animosity in his eyes. But before he could reach Tifa, a blur of red stood in front of her, fists clenched.

"Reno!" Tifa yelled, recognizing her savior.

"Leave Tifa alone Loz," the seven year old said.

"She's a tattle tale and- but Reno was on him then, fists pounding into his face. Loz's buddies grabbed the Turk and dragged him to the ground before beating him up. Luckily an adult soon saw them and sent the bullies running.

Tifa jumped down and ran up to Reno, her eyes brimming with tears.

"I'm okay- but Tifa cut him off with a hug.

"You dummy! Don't get hurt for me..." she sobbed then and Reno could do little but pat her back and whisper in her ear.

"But that's what heroes do..."

Reno was relaxing with his girlfriend on her couch, a contented smile on his face. She was cuddling up to him, her eyes meeting his.

"And to think, we'll be done with high school in a few months," she said.

"Yeah...whatever are we going to do over summer break?" Reno smirked at her then and Tifa blushed before rolling her eyes.

"You pervert..."

"I'm not the only one," Reno shot back, leaning in for a kiss. But Tifa's body suddenly stiffened before their lips could connect. Opening his eyes, he saw her gaze widen and noticed her staring at his left shoulder.

"Kyaaaa! Spider get it away, don't let it bite me!" She back pedaled extremely fast to the other side of the couch and grabbed a pillow, putting it in front of her like a shield. Reno looked at his shoulder then and saw a regular house spider crawling it's way over towards his neck.

Looking at Tifa with an amused expression, Reno plucked the arachnid from his shoulder and walked towards the front door, swiftly letting it go outside. Turning back to Tifa, he gave her a wry grin.

"So since I saved you from the nasty old spider, what do I get?" Tifa had recovered once the spider was gone and batted her eyelashes.

"I'd have to say...." she began. Reno got closer.

"I'd have to say that you...."

"You get to wash your hands, hero." Reno's excited expression vanished and he went to do as his girlfriend asked.

Sometimes heroes never got a break.

Tifa lugged a box up the stairs, placing it in one of the hallways on the second floor. Turning around, she watched as her husband wrestled with a huge box, crammed with various items.

"Need help?"

"No, I'm okay babe I- but his foot twisted then and he started to fall backwards, the box crashing against the stairs. Tifa rushed forward, arm reaching out.

Reno was sure he was going to end up injuring something, most likely his spine, in this fall. But instead of falling to his doom, he felt Tifa's arm around his waist, pulling him close. Looking down at his wife, he smiled at her.

"You saved my life Tifa." Tifa returned his gaze and gave him a coy smile.

"You can't be the hero all the time Reno."

"Don't get hurt for me, Tifa," Reno whispered. Tifa hugged him tighter at the shared memory that sentence conjured up. Kissing him on the lips, she broke apart a little and moved her lips to his ear.

"That's what heroes do..."
