Lucarly: Before anyone asks, no, I still don't support CarJack. MiJack is still my favorite. However, this idea came to me and I couldn't help but write it.
Aki: ...It's only CarJack if you squint though.
Lucarly: Yeah...But it's there.
Aki: Whatever. Lucarly does not own Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's.
Lucarly: By the way, this takes place while Jack's living with Carly.
"I have a new joke," said the black-haired woman, smiling up at me from across the room ", and I'm positive that this one will make you laugh."
I rolled my eyes and sighed, picking up the cup of tea in front of me. The woman, Carly, had declared this morning that her goal today was to make me laugh. Why? I don't know. But since her declaration, my day has been filled with bad jokes and terrible puns.
"I don't want to hear it." I grumbled.
"Aw, come on Jack! This one is really good." insisted Carly.
"Just like the last ten jokes?" I asked sarcastically, casting her a wary glance. Carly let out a defeated sigh.
"Please?" she begged.
"No." I replied.
"Well I'm telling you it anyway," began Carly defiantly. I said nothing and took a sip of the hot tea.
"Knock knock." continued Carly. She waited a moment for my uniform response of "Who's there?" But I only cocked my eyebrow and stared at her.
"...Really? A 'knock knock' joke?" I said, the boredom in my voice obvious.
"Oh, just give it a chance!" said Carly in exasperation.
"Fine," I said, setting down my tea and folding my arms ", Who's there?"
"...Interru-" I began before I was cut off.
"-Moo." said Carly, interrupting my answer; hence, the pun of the joke. I stared at the woman for a brief moment before I let out a low, quiet chuckle.
"Alright, I'll admit that one was sort of funny." I confessed. Carly looked delighted, her lips spreading into a wide smile. It reminded me for fleeting moment of Rally, or even Mikage. That smile of accomplishment, of happiness, looked the same on all three. It was rather ominous in its own fashion.
"You laughed! And you thought my joke was funny!" said Carly, clearly excited.
"I said sort of." I corrected. Carly didn't reply as she sat across from me.
"Jack...Are we friends?" she asked after a moment. I blinked.
"What?" I inquired, estranged by her question.
"Are we friends?" she repeated. I paused and considered what I should say. Two years ago, I gave up friendship for fame and fortune. And even what I quite literally "had it all", I rejected any and all invitations to friendship; most of which were either from Mikage, Godwin, or occasionally, a rival duelist.
But now I had nothing. Still...
"We can be." I said simply. Her eyes widened with a sort of curiosity, brimming with determination. It was sort of...cute.
"What can I do to be your friend?" she asked. I paused and smirked.
"You can start by not telling me stupid jokes anymore."
Lucarly: CarJack shippers probably want to gnaw my head off because I included Mikage in the segment where he compares Carly's smile to that of her and Rally; I did that because I personally believe those three would be the people closest to Jack's heart, which is why he remembers their smile.
Aki: Cute. They're going to hate you anyway.
Lucarly: I know. I hope I didn't fail Carly's character. This is my first time writing about her. Anyway, reviews are love. So if you love me, review. If you don't love me, review anyway.
