"You want to what?" he asked incredulously.
"Set up schools. For common children." Thayet repeated, as she slipped on her overrobe.
Her husband was quiet. "Why?" he eventually asked, curious.
Thayet perched on the end of their bed. "They have a right to learn their letters and numbers. To have the chance of a better life." She paused. "I want to give them that chance." She looked up at her husband, imploring him to consider her dream.
He stared at her for a moment. "I'll talk to Jon," Gary promised, as he leant over and kissed her on the forehead.
