A/N This is a companion piece to Montana Night a story I wrote for my Flack/Angell series "Little Moments Like That" However, you don't need to read that story to enjoy this little fluffy piece!

Disclaimer: I own nothing!

Mac watched as Stella walked out of the bathroom and around the bed.

"What's on your mind, Mac?" Stella wondered, noticing the contemplative look on her boyfriend's face as she climbed onto the bed.

"Have you ever thought about getting married?" He inquired slowly. Stella's eyes grew and her mouth dropped open ever so slightly.

"Are you trying to propose to me?" She gasped on a disbelieving laugh. Mac threw his hands up defensively.

"No, no, no, we've just never talked about it. I wanted to get your opinion on the matter." He stated. Stella glared at him.

"That is so you, never a bit impulsive!" She laughed. A blush crept into Mac's cheeks.

"Just, never mind" He mumbled, turning away from her. Stella reached out and set hand on his cheek.

"Mac" She started looking deep into his eyes." I have thought about getting married" She added slowly, bringing her other hand to his other cheek. "to you" She finished at barely a whisper. Stella sought out his lips for a soft kiss. "I would love to marry you, but the important question is have you thought about getting married again?" She turned his question on him. Mac just sat there for a second like he was trying to piece together the perfect sentence.

"Actually, I've thought about it a lot" he admitted. Stella was somewhat surprised, she knew in her heart she wanted nothing more than to marry Mac, but she was never sure where he stood on the matter after what happened to Claire. She didn't know if he had unguarded his heart enough to get that close to someone again. She was pulled out of her thoughts by Mac getting up and walking out of the room. He returned moments later with a black sharpie in his hand. Stella cocked an eyebrow at him, wondering what he was up to. He climbed back into bed next to her. "Let me see your hand" Mac directed politely. She offered him her right hand. "Other one" He corrected her.

"What are you up to?" She wondered curiously as he opened the marker.

"I'm conducting an experiment." He replied, a smile playing on his lips. He drew a quick line around the ring finger of her left hand. He knotted his brow, clearly not happy with his work. He ran the marker around again, seemingly pleased, he met Stella's green eyes. Mac noticed the confusion still hanging in them. She stretched her arm out, flexing her hard, examining the "ring" he place on her finger. "I think it looks good" Mac whispered, dropping a kiss below her ear. She looked at him and smiled.

"Since we're just talking about getting married" she began, stressing the word "talking". "I guess I should tell you, I know our relationship is not based on material things but if and when you propose, I'm going to need a real ring" She laughed, running her thumb over the dark line on her finger. Mac breathed a light laugh and took her hand again. He wrote a sentence on her palm. Stella took her hand back and read what her boyfriend had wrote.

I will propose when I find a ring that can compare to your beauty. I love you! The black writing read, followed by Mac's signature. Stella felt the tears build up behind her eyes.

"I love you Mac" She whispered, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I mean it Stel, every word. When I find that ring" He promised before Stella cut him off as she sought out his lips for a sweet kiss.

"I know" She smiled, looking down at her hand again.

Those who have kept up with my series know I haven't mentioned Smacked much, let's pretend they have an established relationship ;)
