It occurs to Suzaku one day that he can't remember what his father's eyes looked like. Those shocked, dying orbs had haunted his dreams for so long they were as known to him as his own face.

As he thinks about this, he suddenly realizes Euphie's face hasn't visited his dreams in years, the curves and voice of the woman he loved faded down to whispers upon waking from forgotten, fevered dreams.

He thinks about this for a little while longer, then sighs, and places the mask of Zero- of Lelouch- on his face.
