Disclaimer: As much as I may wish otherwise, I do not own X-Men in any way, shape or form.
Summary: 4th in my 'The Old, the Overused, and the Mocked' series.
The Old, the Overused, and the Mocked: Part Four
Many are those who fall for a Mutant,
But is such a match really so prudent?
For while Remy and Logan are all very well,
Then Stryker pops by and it all goes to hell.
You can't beat Xavier when it comes to the mind,
And Rogue's lethal touch will leave you in a bind.
'Wolvie' isn't a 'softie, unless you're a Mary-Sue,
Magneto won't like Humans, no matter what you do.
Enough with 'Omega' Newbies, no one gives a damn,
As for "Jean's not so great, compared to me…" – BAM!
There are love triangles galore, we don't need another,
And you can still be good, if a villian's your dad or mother.
You can't top the Phoenix, so stop trying already, please,
Before repeating the same old plot brings ff.n to its knees.
Logan lost his memories; boo hoo, alas and alack,
But some random new chick won't just bring them back.
Scott and Jean have one daughter, and Magneto has two,
But said daughters aren't me, and they definitely aren't you.
Xavier has one child, and Storm or Logan have none,
So stop adding new ones in; it's already been overdone.
Crossovers can be done, but lets try to keep it realistic,
One more Middle-Earth/X-Men, and I'll get sadistic.
Characters are Canon for a reason, lets keep them that way,
And you'll be writing good fanfic at the end of the day.

A/N: The fourth part of my 'Old, Overused and Mocked' series. I'm still proudest of parts One and Three, but hopefully this one wasn't too bad. If anyone knows any other fandoms that need attention, please let me know.
Now, you've spent a minute or so reading this poem, it won't kill you to take a few more seconds to review and tell me what you think.
Thanks, Nat
