Look, I'm back! This is not my best work, I'm sorry, but I promised to submit something. More 2x5. Can it count as fluff?

Disclaimer: I own nothing

The front door slammed. Abby glanced over the top of her book at her husband. He looked like he was about to cry.

Concerned, she dropped her novel on the carpet and swung her long legs off the couch.

"Hoagie, what's wrong?" Abby asked, worry clouding her eyes as she stepped towards him. Hoagie merely sniffled.

She shook him gently by the shoulders. "Baby, what's wrong?"

Hoagie brushed her off and collapsed onto the recently vacated couch, burying his face in the pillow his wife had been leaning against. Abby sat next to him, confused and a little hurt.

Placing a hand softly on his back, she tried again. "Hoagie, tell Abby what happened."

From the depths of the fabric came her husband's voice, muffled but still clear enough to hear him say, "I lost my job."

She pulled him out of the pillow to see tears streaking down his face. "Baby, I'm sorry."

Wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his head on her shoulder, Hoagie mumbled, "This is bad, Abby. Really bad. What are we gonna do?"

Abby sighed. "Dunno. Make it up as we go along, Abby guesses."

"That never got us anywhere."

"Got us through high school and college didn't it?"

Hoagie sighed, "Yeah, but Abby, things are kind of different now, aren't they?" He threw a meaningful glance at Abby's middle.

His wife waved the thought away. "Shoot, Hoagie, Abby ain't due for another five months. We'll be alright."

"I hope you're right." Hoagie rubbed his forehead. Abby grabbed his hand and grinned.

"When is Abby wrong, baby?"

Really bad ending. Should I edit it and add some more? Tell me in a review. Please don't tell me that it was absolutely dreadful. If it was, please tell me tactfully, I'm normally a tough girl, but when it comes to people hating my writing, I break.
