A Long Afternoon
"Nuh uh. No way."
"No freakin' way!"
"How else could he have escaped?"
"I...I really couldn't say. But through that pipe and into the building?"
"Maybe so, but that's what happened."
Doggett, Scully and Reyes peered at said pipe, each wearing differing expressions. Doggett's was stubbornly sceptical, Scully's certain and Reyes' confused.
"But how?" Reyes put in.
Scully pointed at a slimy substance coating the inside of the pipe. "I believe he somehow shrank his body to fit inside - perhaps his physiology allows him to do so - and that he secreted this...slime...to allow for an easier passage through."
"Nuh uh. No way." Doggett shook his head.
"Yep," Scully confirmed.
Reyes moved closer to Doggett and, one finger across her lips, offered a look of utter disbelief. "No freakin' - "
"Way?" Scully finished, raising an eyebrow. She glanced between Reyes and Doggett and then back again. Sighed.
"It appears we're in for a long afternoon."
