A/N: HEY! I'm back and surprisingly, writing a Digimon fic! A lil random but I love it! So the pairings are MattxOC, Taiora, Takari and many more. HAHAHA. Oh and the main character is complete fictional. I made her up. I fill you guys in on some details. She was one of the first few digidestined. And she went to the Digiworld with everyone else before Kari did. So there are 9 of 'em. I know it's a lot but this is fiction so.. hahaha. Oh and the timeline is during Digimon Adventures 02. This will sound so random and lame but her Digimon is Terriermon and her crest.. is.. the crest of Loyalty. I'm sorry but it was either that or Purity..and that didn't really make sense.
New A/N: Okay, I didn't remove the top A/N because there's explanations in there. I wanted to start writing again but was too lazy to start a completely new story. So I decided to improve this, seeing as I started it 6 years ago and reading it now makes me wanna cringe. It will be roughly the same, plot wise but hopefully, the actual writing would've improved :) Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own anything except for Naomi.
Summary: After 3 years, Naomi returns to Odaiba. Only to find everything in its place. Romance will blossom along with a few trips to Digiworld. She couldn't be more content. But then again nobody's life can ever be perfect.
I roamed around the streets of Odaiba after nearly 5 years of being away. Some things had changed, others had remained the same. Everything felt familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. Each landmark I passed, I'd revisit a memory of my time with my friends. I wonder if they still remember me, I wonder if they still remember everything that happened, everything we achieved. I fished my old, inactive Digivice out of the back pocket of my jeans. Just looking at it revived so many memories, good and bad. I missed it all. My friends, the adventures and Terriermon. I shoved it back into my pocket, fearful of anyone noticing it. My aimless walking led me to, what once was an empty lot, some kind of outdoor theatre, just outside the entrance to Daiba Park. A cheerful looking girl, no older than me probably and in a school uniform, was handing out fliers to every passerby she saw. I tried to make my way past her without interaction, not really in the mood to deal with her apparent enthusiasm, but my efforts were futile.
"Excuse me miss!" she called as she shoved a flier at me. "Here's a flier for tonights show! Hope you can make it". Her voice was filled with glee. I examined the poster in my hands. It was rather minimalist, a dark background with little white dots all over and a full moon, I'm assuming it was meant to depict the night sky. The words ,'Teen-Age Wolves', were printed a big white letters and that bottom there was the time, date and venue in a smaller font. Well, it's not like I have anything better to do. For all I know, they could be pretty good.
I made my way closer to the venue and noticed a small building around the back. Something compelled me to walk towards the little building in the back. The closer I got, the more my heart began to race. What if there was security? What if I get caught? As my brain tried to stop me, my legs seemed to have a mind of its own. The moment I was an earshot from the entrance to the little building, a boy with big, brown, bushy hair come out the door. I raised an eyebrow as I slowed my pace.
"Alright, I'll be back in a bit" he said as he was half out the door. He turned to face the direction I was walking in, his eyes bulging out. As did mine.
"Tai!" I practically screamed.
"Naomi?" he asked. I nodded my head furiously as I ran over to him. He engulfed me in a hug as I stood on my tip toes and buried my face into his shoulder as I returned the hug. He had gotten so tall. As we pulled away, I studied his face. He looked different yet the same. His hair has gotten bushier, he ditched the goggles and he finally grew into his eyes! His facial features seemed more defined that they were when we were children. He had become lean, muscular and tall. He looked all grown up. After I had finished my observation, I noticed him studying me as well.
I would like to think I've changed a considerable amount since I left Odaiba. Puberty had hit me and pretty hard I'd like to think. I had grown quite a bit, I was taller than I was when I was 11, my boobs grew to a decent size and my dark brown hair was longer. A few years ago, I decided to experiment and added purple highlights, which I quite liked and have redone every year since. My eyes were still the same big cerulean eyes.
"Hi" I said, finally breaking the silence.
"Hi" he replied, no louder than a whisper. "Wow, I… I… uh… what're you doing here?".
"My dad got transferred back to Odaiba!". His eyes grew wider with content.
"That's awesome! So, how was Kyoto?".
"It was great. Really chill. Not as lively as Odaiba, though. I miss the crazy city lights and buzz of things. It feels go to be back".
"Well, I'm glad you're back. Things were definitely not the same when you left. Oh my God, you have to see Sora. Come on!". He grabbed my hand and started pulling me towards the door to the little building. He yanked it open and there was a large space, with sofas on the side and a long table in a corner.
"SORA, LOOK" he yelled as he pulled me inside.
"Na-Nao-Naomi?" she asked, tears in her eyes. My eyes got a bit watery too. I ran over to her and embraced her in a hug which she gladly returned. We both let out a squeal.
"YOU! You've grown so much! Oh my gosh! Your hair!" she squealed. Sora had grown into such a beautiful young woman. She was as tall as I was, with shoulder length, ginger, layered hair. Her maroon eyes still shone bright with love and care.
"You too! I mean you said you'd be caught dead in a skirt! Guess not" I laughed.
"HEY! 5 years can really change someone. When you and Mimi left, there was no one to help me go through the whole 'trying-to-be-girly' phase" she pouted.
"Hey, I wasn't THAT girly!". She rolled her eyes. Really! I wasn't! I was just less of a tomboy than she was.
"Right. You have to see Matt! He's like a complete rockstar now".
"Is he in a band or something?". It was a joke.
"Yup. The Teen-Age Wolves". Okay, what. "You okay?" she asked.
"Yeah. Just a little nervous to see Matt. I haven't seen him in 5 years.. how's everybody else?".
"Well, as we all know Mimi moved to America. Tai, Matt, Izzy and I are in high school. Joe is in a private school. T.K., Kari, Davis, Yolei, Ken and Cody are in middle school".
"I'm sorry but who are Davis, Yolei, Ken and Cody?".
"They're are the new Digidestined. They watch over the Digiworld with T.K. and Kari".
"Wow. A lot has changed since I left".
"Yeah". Sora let out a soft chuckle.
"I still can't believe you're really here".
After The Show
I followed backstage, nervously. I saw T.K. there with Kari. "Hey Kari" Tai called out. She turned around and saw me. T.K. did too. I was soon embraced in a big group hug.
"Aww... you guys aren't short anymore" I laughed.
"Yeah, well, you're taller than you used to be!" T.K. said. T.K. was spitting image of Matt, same indigo eyes and shaggy blonde hair. The only difference was T.K. had more of a baby face. He was also much taller than I had anticipated him to be.
"5 years Naomi! I missed you so much" Kari said as she hugged me again. Kari too had grown so much since I saw her last. Her light brown hair had grown to her shoulders and she was almost as tall as I was. She still radiated the same aura, free spiritedness and light.
"Same here" T.K. sighed.
"Aww.. you guys are making me cry" I said as I wiped my eyes which had tears pooling in them. I embraced them both in a hug again.
I was about to go backstage after a brief meet and greet to catch up with T.K. and the others when I saw Tai standing outside. He was leaning against the wall, next to the door. "What's up? Why are you out here, dude?" I asked.
"You will never believe who is in that room" he said. I let out a gasp.
"The Beat Crusaders?!" I exclaimed. Then he hit the back of my head.
"NO! Don't get your hopes too high, Matt". I opened the door and saw a girl talking to Izzy. I didn't know who she was cause her back was towards me. Izzy spotted me and gestured her to turn around. I raised an eyebrow at him when she turned around. I saw her again. After 5 years. Oh my gosh. She's so beautiful.
"Hey Matty" she smiled.
"Yomi?" I asked in disbelief. No one ever called me that. No one except for her because she came up with it. When we were in the darkness together we gave each other nicknames. I called her Yomi and she called me Matty. She walked over and wrapped her arms around my neck. I was still in shock from seeing her but somehow my arms wrapped themselves around her waist. She pulled away and smiled.
"You're a rockstar now huh?".
"Yeah". We gazed into each others eyes, it felt as if time had stopped. It felt as though as I have been waiting for this moment but didn't know it until right now.
"You know what would've made this reunion perfect" Tai said, completely ruining the moment.
"What?" I asked, annoyed.
"If Mimi and Joe were here!" he exclaimed.
"Now that you mention it, where is Joe?" Naomi asked.
"He's got something going on" Sora said.
"That's Joe. Get used to it" I told Naomi. She nodded. "So where you going to school?" I asked.
"Odaiba High". I felt like jumping for joy and running all over the place screaming "SHE'S GOING TO ODAIBA HIGH!" but I restrained myself from doing so. Gotta keep your cool Matt.
