After one last trowelful of dark earth anchored the slender trunk and another sprinkling of water quenched thirsty roots Sam rose to his feet, his gaze fixed on the silver-edged leaves and single white blossom that glowed in the morning sunlight, feeling the familiar satisfaction of a job well done.
