She'd never thought she'd be here.

Standing amidst city lights, jazz music, and the smell of Cajun food.

She'd never thought she would have someone try to steal her purse in public either.

And so as a saxophone hit a high note she reached her hand out, grabbed the robber's wrist, and pinned him to the ground; straddling him.

"Remy t'inks if the belle femme wanted to get on top, all she had t' do was ask."

She'd never though someone could infuriate her as much as this man was at the moment. How dare he have the right to spit innuendos after stealing her purse? She reached out a gloved hand to grab where it had fallen above his head, in the process removing his sunglasses.

She gasped.

She'd never thought she'd see such beautiful eyes.

She'd never thought she'd be here.

Standing in one of the many corridors of Xavier's institute at midnight; kissing her favorite thief.

She'd never thought she would even be able to touch, let alone kiss.

Yet here she stood, wrapping herself around him as tightly as possible. Slipping her tongue into his mouth so she could memorize every detail of it. He tasted like the familiar southern spice she grew up with, along with a hint of cigarette smoke.

She'd never thought he would reply with such enthusiasm.

She'd never thought she'd be here.

Lying in a bed, next to her lover.

She'd never thought she would have a lover.

And as she laid in the afterglow following a glorious session of lovemaking, she only craved more.

More touch, more loving words, more him.

She'd never thought she would enjoy it this much.

She'd never thought she would be here.

Adorned in a dress of white lace, standing at a church altar.

As the priest recited the footholds of marriage, she stared into his eyes.

Red and black.

She'd never thought she would love someone's eyes so much.

She'd never thought she would love him so much.

He recited his vows, his accent thicker because of the emotion. The band slipped on her finger.

She'd never thought she would cry of happiness.

"I do."

She'd never thought she would be here.

Screaming in pain as her body ripped apart, and threatening parts of her husband's anatomy.

As she heard the cries of a baby, relief flooded through her.

She'd never thought she could do it.

A nurse handed her the baby. A boy.

He opened his eyes for the first time, looking at her.

Red on Black.

They had the most beautiful baby boy in the world.

She'd never thought she would be here.

Watching her child play on park swings, his doting father pushing him.

He looked her way, walking over to her.

"Somet'ing wrong cher?"

She'd never thought someone would be so concerned for her.

She told him the news.

His face cracked into a smile, and he picked her up swinging her around.

"Ano'ter bebe!"

She'd never thought she'd be a mother twice-over.

He'd never thought he'd be here.

Laying next to his beautiful wife while their baby girl slept for more than a few hours for the first time.

He watched her as the sun bathed her in it's rising light, casting a glow on her white bangs.

A halo.

He never thought Le Diable Blanc would have an angel.
