Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
A Songfic Oneshot
I walk a lonely road,
the only one that I have ever known.
Saphira was flying through the clouds, tears streaking down her face, falling to the ground below.
Don't know where it goes,
But its only me and I walk alone.
Saphira flew on, past unfamiliar territory, a cold and single streak across the sky.
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
When the city sleeps
And Im the only one and I walk alone.
Saphira flew on and on, trying to ease her aching heart. The flames of lanterns below burned like her long-dead passion for Eragon.
I walk alone
I walk alone
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me.
My shadow's hearts the only thing that's beating.
Saphira felt like her heart was ripped out, and knew no one could mend it.
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Till then I walk alone
Saphira wished Eragon had not been stolen from her. She hoped he would come back, and love her again. But she knew it was not to be.
Uh uh, uh uh, uh uh, uuhh uh
uh uh, uh uh uh uh
I'm walking down the line,
that divides me somewhere in my mind.
And the border line
of the edge and where I walk alone.
Once Eragon had left her, Saphira had tried to erect a barrier between them, but she kept thinking back to him.
Read between the lines,
what's fucked up and
everything's all right
check my vital signs,
to know I'm still alive
and I walk alone.
Saphira landed on the road to Carvahall, looking at the burnt remains of Eragon's former home. She lay down and picked up a rusted sword.
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a-
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Till then I walk alone
Saphira braced herself and slowy raised the lethal tool right above her heart.
Ah ah, ah ah, ah ah, aahh ah
ah ah, ah ah
I walk alone I walk alone
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
When the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone
Saphira saw all her mentors and friends flash by in a ghostly river; Brom, Oromis and Gladeur, Arya, Nasuada, Murtagh and Thorn, and all the villagers from Carvahall. All about to disappear.
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me.
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Saphira raised the sword high and was about to strike when she heard her name.
"Saphira! I found you! Don't you ever try that again!" It was Eragon. Saphira dropped the sword in relief and roared with joy. They both sank down in physical and emotional exhaustion.
Sometimes I wish that someone out there will find me,
'Till then I walk alone.
But Saphira was no longer alone.
