"I-I got you a -a little something."
Cordy accepted a small, pretty, gold wrapped package from Angel. "Oh, Angel, you didn't have to do that. You have enough to take care of as it is."
"Well, I'm a champion. We do important stuff," he chuckled. "Hey, and who's more important than you?" he asked, suddenly serious.
"I can think of many," she told him.
He put Connor in his swing and turned it on, knowing the baby would be content for quite some time.
He took her hand and led her to the sofa in the corner. "Cordy, don't you know how special you are?"
She just shrugged her shoulders and looked down at her feet.
He lifted her chin so her eyes met his. "You and Connor are the most important people in my life. I can't even begin to imagine my life without either one of you."
A brilliant Cordelia Chase smile spread across her face. She gently touched his cheek. "You bring meaning to my life."
A beautiful smile slowly spread across his face. "Open your gift," he told her.
She quickly peeled away the paper to reveal a small box, about the size of a business card. Lifting the lid off, she found the most beautiful locket she had ever seen. It was in the shape of a heart and had the letter C engraved in beautiful script on the outside. Opening it, she found a picture of the two of them on one side. The other side bore just three simple words, but they nearly took her breath away. "I love you," she read.
"Oh, Angel, it's beautiful," she whispered as the tears started to fall.
He gently wiped them away. "Not nearly as beautiful as you."
She smiled. "Will you put it on me?"
"Absolutely. Turn around." He took the locket from her, slipping it around her neck and fastening it.
"Thank you," she told him, turning back around.
"You're welcome," he whispered, leaning in for a gentle kiss. "I love you, Cordy."
"I love you, Angel."
