A/N: Just a drabble I came up with in 10 minutes. Not top quality, but something.

She holds the large diamond in her delicate fingers. The metal tinkles as it moves.

She holds it in the sunlight, and rays pass through the cuts, throwing rainbows around the quiet room. Her lullaby rings in her ears as her fingers run across the cold rock. She should feel at ease, everything should feel right in the world.

It didn't.

For in her heart, the heavy hard rock seemed fragile like it would shatter to pieces once she touched it and in a blink of an eye it would be gone.

He promised her forever, but how could she be sure?

Not again, it won't happen again, he promised. She thought, never again.

The sun fell behind the clouds and the flecks of colour that spattered around the room were gone. Shadows were looming over the room, the shadow of darkness, the shadow of doubt.

Bella let the heart fall from her grasp, letting it dangle from the bracelet. She closed her eyes, black eyelashes, hiding the fear, doubt and sadness. But down her porcelain cheek, a tear escaped, but no one would be there to catch it.

One can only hope.
