"James?" I heard Sirius's voice, but the word didn't really register in my mind. I was too busy watching her.
"He's off in Lily Land," Remus said. "No getting to him now. It's a little creepy really."
"Hey!" I cried. "What!?"
"You basically stalk her," Peter said, shrugging.
"I do not!" I said, trying to hold onto my last bit of dignity.
"You do," Sirius said pitifully. "And you always seem to make an idiot of yourself."
"I do not!"
"Shall we visit the Idiot Memorial?" Sirius asked. "How about the time you said, 'Evans, go out with me! I mean, uh, please?'"
"That was funny," Peter said.
"Oh, and what about, 'Can I touch your hair?'" Remus added, laughing.
"Creepy," Sirius said nodding. "And, 'I can burp the ABCs!' Classic!"
"I hope you're all having a great laugh at my expense!" I yelled.
"Oh, we are," Sirius agreed. "Can you blame us though? You once asked her out by saying, 'Your shoelace is untied, so maybe we should go to Hogsmeade together next weekend.' That was funny."
"I said the first thing that came into my mind!" I said in a desperate attempt to defend myself.
"And the time you offered to buy her a butterbeer, and she actually accepted, and then you spilled it on her!"
I groaned. That had been horrible.
"Oh!" Peter squealed. "And the time she asked you why you were following her, and you insisted you weren't!"
"How was that funny?" Remus asked.
"Remember what happened after that?" Peter prodded.
Everyone thought for a moment, then Remus and Sirius burst out laughing. I had insisted I wasn't following her, and she said I was, so I said I would prove I wasn't and just leave, and proceeded to fall down the stairs.
"Are you guys done?" I asked, groaning.
"Nope," Sirius answered, popping the p. "What about the time you insisted your socks were really cool, and when you bent down to take your shoe off, you fell and hit your head. Madame Pomfrey laughed so hard when Lily brought you in!"
"And the time he tried to ask me out, and ended up asking me what kind of shampoo I used," Lily added, walking up to us. I felt my face heat up.
"Yeah," Sirius agreed. "That one was good."
"And the time you thought it might be easier to ask her if your eyes were closed, and you asked out Alice!" Frank Longbottom added, laughing.
Oh god, everyone was joining in.
"What about the time you told her she should go out with someone handsome and kind, and kind, and she said, 'You mean Sirius', and you said, 'Yes! I mean no!'" A passing Hufflepuff girl said.
"And there was the time you said, 'Hogsmeade-me-I mean-you-want to-with me?'" Professor McGonagall said as she passed by laughing.
O god, this is humiliating.
