AN: This is a continuation the last chapter of the Deathly Hallows (19 years later). If your one of those people who refuses to read the last book at least read the epilogue. That chapter is needed.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or the characters (except ones I have made up e.g. Alicetra Malfoy) if I did I would be very, very rich and about 20+ years older. Though technically their personalities and basic storyline is mine.

Chapter 1: The Train
The train filled with student and the doors closed. Students rushed to compartments, other stayed waving to their families. After waving their goodbyes Albus and Rose made their way through the corridor. Looking through the glass windows they past the full compartments, filled with chattering groups of students.
"They're all full…"
"We'll find one" Albus sighed, rolling his eyes. Finally arriving at the last carriage, they looked though the windows of the doors in the compartments. Quickly they noticed one only occupied by two people. A pair of blonde first years, a boy and a girl.
"Can we sit in here? All the others are full." Albus asked knocking on the door.
"Oh, certainly" The blonde girl looked up at the pair, a copy of the daily prophet in her hands. Her smile was small and polite but she was obviously not interest, she quickly returned to reading her article. The boy did not stir as they entered, his eyes remained focused on the window, his body relaxed in his chair. "I'm Alicetra… and that is my twin brother Scorpius."
"I'm Albus" He said holding out his arm and shaking Alicetra hand, the girl seemed to making polite conversation and glared at her brother as he remained stoic.
"Rose, nice to meet you"
"Enchanted, I hope the feast doesn't take to long,"
"You want it do fast?"
"I'm exhausted, I almost missed the train!" The blonde girl rolled her eyes, setting down her paper and lay her hand delicately on her lap.
"Ooo how? You managed to get a compartment before us."
"Well… we were leaving by floo powder and I had left my wand on my bed, I had been in a rush. So I run up to get it when I come back, what has happened? Mother and Father have already left without me!" Alicetra told her tale in a dramatic fashion, giving time for anticipation and effect.
"We thought you had gone already, you do tend to be impatient" a bored male voice entered the conversation. The group looked over to see the Scorpius sitting up straight. He drawled on as he spoke for the first time in an aristocratic voice. "One moment you were there beside the fireplace waiting to leave and then the next you were gone. What were we meant to believe?"
Surprisingly Alicetra dismissed her brother as though he had not said a thing and continued, Albus took his eyes from the other boy and focused on her again. "Anyway… Surprised as I was to find myself left behind I decided to head of on my own. I flooed, by myself, to Mrs. Partain's house. She is the women whose house we use to floo to when coming to platform 9 ¾ as she lives all of 5 minutes from the station"
"Once again. We thought you had already left!"
"Shh Scorpius! When I arrived she tells me that my parents had already left and the train was leaving in 4 minutes! Four minutes I had to run from this women's house with a trunk to the station!" she said putting emphasis on the word minutes, "I ran at an almighty speed, I think I seriously hurt one muggle by hitting him with my trunk… and FINALLY, I made it onto the platform to see Scorpius boarding the train."
"Mother apparated back to the house to look for you, when we arrived at Mrs. Partain's house she told me and father to head along to the station. Mother couldn't find you and came back to us," Scorpius sighed dramatically, pushing himself forward. "Mrs. Partain then apparated on to 9 ¾ and told us you were on your way, three minutes later you run onto the platform sweating like a troll gasping for breath."
"Humph." Alicetra's mouth dropped open, her grey eyes cold. Crossing her arms she turned from her brother, facing Albus.
"Well… what an eventful morning you've had," Rose said smiling, hoping to lighten he mood. If she was going to have to spend the whole train ride with these people she didn't want a fight.
Her smile faded as she looked over to the boys, something in her memory was poking at her. Scorpius… Scorpius…Scor…
The memory hit her, from only moments ago. She remembered her dads conversation with Harry on the platform 'That's little Scorpius then' "I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but… are you the Mafloys?"
"Yes. How did you know and why?" The boy answered his thick voice defensive and demanding. In a view years he would sound threatening and would fit a seat of authority well. Both the Malfoys now sat up straight and stone faced, as if waiting to find out if they were friend or foe.
Taken back by there reaction Rose shuffled in her seat and swallowing a lump of fear in her throat "Um… my…nothing… My dad… he just pointed you out on the platform that's all"
"Your father pointed up out… oh…ok then" Scorpius seemed to relax a little, most witches and wizards would shy their children away from them if they didn't like them or tell them to stay away. "how did your father know us anyway is a friend of our father or a colleague at the ministry?"
Alicetra sat silent, letting her brother take reign, her position was still stiff, her eyes accusing.
"Um I don't know exactly… but… but our dads do work at the ministry." Rose replied.
"Yeah they do." Albus backed his cousin up, smiling.
Scorpius nodded his head then looking to his watch, as if to distract himself "the trolley should be here soon."
He was right. A few seconds following his comment, the sound of the trolley and a small bell eluded before it. A portly old woman was pushing a trolley up the corridor, her features was and smile welcoming. The cart seemed to demand your attention, full of liquorish wand, pumpkin pasties and cauldron cakes. The smell of sugar filling their senses.
"Anything off the trolley dears?" the woman said as she had for years to generation upon generation of wizards. According to their cousins and parent the woman had been going up and down along the train's corridor for years selling the snacks to students.
"It's exactly how Dad said." Albus grinned, digging money out of his jeans. "Hmm... Could I have… a box of Bertty Bott's every flavour beans, three chocolate frogs and a pack of drew ball."
"Anything from the trolley?" The plump lady asked again smiling. "We've got every type of sweet you'd ever want"
"A sickle and a knut please."
"Yes please, could I have a pumpkin pasty and two liquorish wands?" Rose asked politely, pulling out her money from her purple purse.
"That will be a 3 knuts love." The women smiled passing Rose her sweets.
Scorpius and Alicetra ordered a small shop worth between them, pulling out two large shiny galleons, completing their order quickly and the women left, smiling happily; her cheery voice echoing down the corridor.
. . .
The group sat and ate their sweets quietly, the rustle of wrappers an breathing filling the silence. Scorpius had gone back to staring out the window and Rose had lifted out a book.
"Anyone want a chocolate frog?" Albus asked biting of the head of the squirming chocolate creature.
"No thanks but what card did you get?" Rose asked looking over her book; 'Hogwarts a history'
"Um …It's Nicholas Flammel." Albus sighed as he looked down at the card, shrugging he passed It toward his cousin. "I've got three of him already; you can have him if you want."
"Thanks." Rose grinned happily, giving him a hug. "Loves, Albus."
"Eww Rosie, it's only a collecting card."
'"Hmm… know something funny?" Scorpius said looking up from his sweets "You know the headmaster before McGonagall… well he was called Albus."
'"I know I was named after two Hogwarts headmasters. Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape! My dad says they were the greatest men he ever knew."
Alicetra scoffed, looking up eyes wide. "Sorry."
"I guess that's cool. I'm named after an animal." Scorpius sighed "So, what part of the ministry do your parents work in anyway?'
"My Dad works as an auror and my mums a healer at Mungos" Rose said proudly
"And you?' Alicetra asked poking a liquorice wand at Albus's leg
"My Dad's an auror too and my mum used to work in Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophe but quit when she had my sister Lily." Albus shrugged, nibbling his lip. "So for the past 9 years she has been a stay home mum."
"That's cool, our father works in department of Department of International Magical Cooperation."
Tehf our of them nodded along ith the dry conversation, the awkward silence seemed heavy in the air. The sound of Rose's page turning seemed to echo.
"I'm bored." Rose closed her book and sat up.
"You have not finished that book already?!" Albus looked at her shocked; she had only started the book the night before. The thick book was like a bible to her mother.
"Yes!" she shot him a look then turning to the twins "Do either of you play chess?"
"Not in particularly but Scorpius does…"
"I do and I don't mean to be cocky but I'm fabulous!" Scorpius smirked then looked down to his watch. "hmmm… Well how about we get changed into our robes and that gives us time to play a few games uninterrupted."
Standing the group retrieved they school robes from their trunks. The boys agreed to let the girls change in the compartment, Scorpius and Albus headed for the toilets.
"You better watch playing my brother, he is as he said fabulous at chess." Alicetra rolled her grey eyes, pulling on the white shirt.
"We'll I'm utterly amazing"
"Well, well, well who's cocky now?" Alicetra laughed
Pulling on their identical uniforms the girls sat down. The boys returned a few minutes later the four of them dressed in there clean new Hogwarts robes, each with the H crest.
"So are we playing?"
"Of course" Rose smiled as she lifted out a white marble chess board from her chest and two sets of marble pieces.
"I've got my own pieces" Scorpius smirked pulling out a silver bag from his cloak; he lifted out a set of black crystal pieces. His queen gleaming as he set it on the board.
The two set up there pieces and jumped into the came. Huddled over the boards, pure concentration showed on their faces. Albus watched the game interested for the first few minutes. On the other hand Alicetra flicked through an issue of witch weekly uninterested by the strategic game.
Their piece jump back and forward; knights taking pawn, pawns turning into queens. After about 15 minutes a sly grin crept upon Rose's face, she stretched out her arm, swiftly moving her bishop.
"Checkmate!" The bishop lifted his long staff plunging forward shattering the king violently.
Scorpius' mouth dropped open, a strangled noise coming from his throat. "You… you beat me…"
"Pardon did he just say you won?" Alicetra looked up from her paper smirking, letting out a small laugh. "Well, well, well I think I like her."
"Good game Rosie." Albus clapped his hands grinning as Rose sat back smugly. The blonde boy stared in disbelief at the bored.
Only father has ever beaten me and that was when I was really little. I'm smart and strategic… wow, she's good…Scorpius' thoughts ran around his head taken of guard by this defeat.

AN: I will be writing more to this chapter don't worry it's just that the pages with the rest of the story have been left in locker at school. I have a question for you readers though what would you think if I skipped to 4th year after the first because relationships can't happen until there a certain age and this will give the story more effect.
