This is what I think
Emily was thinking as Sasha told her to fall. Now, I usually don't
do Emily/Sasha fics, but those darned plot bunnies! :) I usually
think of them as father/daughter, but what is there was… more?
Enjoy! PS—Please forgive if I get some of the script wrong. Could
not find it anywhere online. But please review!!!
Disclaimer: I do not own Make it Or Break it or any of these characters.
"Emily fall." He ordered me. "Do you trust me?"
"I can't," I muttered.
"Why?" he said. "Do you not trust me? I'm your coach, Emily, follow my orders."
"I can't, okay?" I cried. I had so much control of my life. I can't give in now. No way. Emily Kmetko did not give in. Letting go was giving in, and that was something I wouldn't do.
"You said you'd follow my orders without question. Now Emily, I will catch you," he said.
"I can't!" I yelled at him. "I can't trust you! Do you know what it's like when you can't trust anybody but yourself? So many people have let me down! My dad, Marty, Brian's dad! I can't trust anyone but myself!" I'm not giving in. He can't make me give in. He's not going to catch me, and I'm going to ruin my Olympic dreams forever.
"Emily," he said. "I know what it's like. But please. You have to trust me. Trust me, please. I think you have wonderful talent, but if you can't trust your coach—who can you trust at all? Emily. Fall."
Don't do this, Emily. You can't. Don't trust him. He's going to let you down just like all the other crazy people you've let into your life that have let you down, that have told you they would love you and care for you—but then one day you wake up and they're gone. They just disappear because they can't handle it. Don't trust him, Kmetko. You're better than that.
So then I fell. And Sasha Belov, caught me.
If you need a place where you can run
If you need a shoulder to cry on
Well I'll always be your friend
If you need shelter from the rain
If you need a healer for your pain
I will be there time and time again
If you need someone to love you
Here I am
"I did it," I murmured as he held me. "I did it."
"You did it, Emily," he said, softly, smiling with pride. "You did it."
So then that day, me, Emily Kmetko, who was found on a playground, who could do the vault, who could do a standing tuck--me, simple, plain Emily, finally learned how to give in, and fall. And for once in my life—someone had caught me.
