"What the bloody hell is wrong with people!"

Rose looked up and saw Scorpius striding angrily toward the couch. "Scorp? What's the matter?" she asked him.

Scorpius plopped down on the couch next to her, loosening his tie around his neck. "Nothing. Just arrogant stupid people who refuse to think for themselves and blindly follow the other stupid idiots out there" he grumbled. Rose sat up. Usually Scorpius was extremely reserved and soft-spoken. It must have been something bad to make him this upset. "What happened?" she asked. Scorpius looked in the other direction with a slightly pink tinge on his cheeks and didn't answer her. Rose touched his arm. "Scorp, I've been your best friend for the past 5 years. You can tell me."

Scorpius buried his head in his hands. "You'd think after all this time of me being a Gryffindor and a prefect that people would get over their idea that I'm nothing but a Malfoy. But no, some idiot I told to go to bed because he was pas curfew told me to stuff it, because I have no authority, I'm just a cheat, a Malfoy" he spat his last name bitterly. Rose kept silent. She knew how Scorpius felt about people who only judged him by his family. That's why Rose was Scorpius' first friend. Everyone else shunned him but she didn't because she knew how it felt to be compared to your parents.

"Scorpius there will always be idiots out there. Don't think about them, they don't deserve it" Scorpius still didn't look up though. "Hey" she said, picking up his chin so he'd have to look at her. "Sirius Black came from a whole family of Slytherins and pure-blood maniacs but ended up in Gryffindor and was one of the most amazing people I've ever heard of. He proved he wasn't just a member of the Black family. He was Sirius. And you are Scorpius. Not a Malfoy."

Scorpius half smiled. "I guess that's true," he said. Rose smiled. "Of course it's true, I said it didn't I?" Scorpius looked up at her and laughed. Suddenly Rose noticed how close the were, and dropped her hand from Scorpius' chin and leaned back a little, with a slight blush on her cheeks. "Well, it's late I should go to bed" she said while standing up. She started walking toward the staircase when Scorpius said, "Rose?" and gently tugged her wrist. Rose turned around. "Yeah?" she said while looking up at his silvery-blue eyes. Scorpius leaned down, kissed her on the cheek and hugged her. "Thanks" he whispered into her hair, tickling her ear. Rose shivered "anytime" she said while wrapping her arms around him too. A few seconds later, they reluctantly pulled apart. "Goodnight Rose" Scorpius said, and walked into his dormitory. Rose whispered "goodnight" while touching her cheek. Smiling, she turned to her dormitory and softly shut the door.
