I know it's horribly short, but this was all I had time for. Ugh, forget all my excuses, I just apologise for this appalling drabble-thing.

Anyway, this is Rivalshipping (written for Round 5 of contest) Seto KaibaxYuugi Mouto.

Not many people were like Yuugi Mouto. He was an extraordinary person; everyone who met him knew that immediately. It wasn't everybody that could brighten up a room just by walking into it (it sounds cliché, but any of his friends would swear it was true), or make friends with people that wanted to kill him, or carry on giving out second chances to people that everyone else had given up on.

He trusted everyone.

He loved everyone.

He was one of those people that lived to make others happy.

And Seto Kaiba hated him for it.

(Well, maybe 'hate' is too strong a word. Maybe he was just jealous. Maybe Seto himself didn't even know.)

The reason?

Whenever Seto looked at Yuugi, he saw everything that he used to be. He saw innocence, trust and above all an unquenchable happiness. Of course, Seto wasn't like that anymore. Gozaburo Kaiba had made sure of that.

Yuugi had everything that Seto had lost, and just looking at him made Seto remember.

Seto didn't like to remember.

"Work harder! You're a disgrace to the Kaiba name!"

"Big brother, why are you so tired?"

"If you don't obey me, I'll forbid you to see Mokuba!"

"Please, Seto, you need to sleep…"

It made him angry.

And all the times that he was defeated by Yuugi only served to fuel his anger. His hatred.

***

He ignored Yuugi or any one of his friends whenever he saw them. He buried himself in his work so that he had an excuse to refuse invitations. He stopped watching TV, because Yuugi always seemed to be on the gaming channels.

Mokuba was worried.

He had no idea what was going on, so he called the only person he thought might be able to help with his beloved brother's strange new behaviour.

He called Yuugi Mouto.

Who, of course, dropped everything and rushed over immediately. That was the day that everything changed.

That was the day that Yuugi shyly leaned over and kissed Seto on the cheek. That was the day that Seto Kaiba realized just how fickle the human heart can be, and just how quickly hate can transform into something quite different.

(That 'something' may have been love, it may have been something else. Seto was never really sure.)

***

Seto Kaiba was also an extraordinary person, in his own way. Only a few people could see that though. One of those people was Yuugi Mouto, who threw himself headfirst into the task of salvaging Seto's broken heart.

Maybe, just maybe, Yuugi could bring back what Seto used to be. Well, if anyone could, it would be him.

Yuugi Mouto really was an extraordinary person.

Well, thanks for reading! ^^
