Dancing in the Rain

Very random little oneshot. Jibbs. Came about because of the incredibly wet summer we're having in Scotland. Unbetaed piece.

The sky was heavy with dark rainclouds that brought twilight about early and threatened to overspill causing torrents of rain to come crashing down around them. They were walking side by side, their steps perfectly in sync.

Their hands brushed against each other and the touch made them both tingle with anticipation. They were on the edge of something big. It was hanging in the air alongside the looming rainclouds.

The first splatter of rain collided onto her cheek with a splash. She looked up, her facing pointing skywards. And the heavens opened. The rain was sudden. It was unrelenting in streams bouncing down to the ground. She spread her arms in wonder, her mouth open, catching raindrops on her tongue. Instantaneously transported back to her childhood she began dancing in the rain.

Her hair was matted and slick against her face, her clothes clung to her body like a second skin, droplets of water were beaded through her eyelashes blurring her vision. But she felt free. She felt amazing. She felt like this was the moment she'd been waiting for.

She turned around to look at him. He stood stock still, his gaze holding hers, a well disguised smile playing at the corner of his lips.

"Jethro?"

She held her hand out invitingly to him.

He quirked his eyebrow and threw her a look she couldn't quite discern.

She stepped towards him, closing the distance between them. They were standing toe to toe, just inches apart, she was captivated by the rivulets of water the trickled unhampered down his face.

She raised a hand to touch him. A finger tip brushing his skin and catching a raindrop winding its way down his cheek. Her fingers trailed down his face slowly and traced the outline of his lips.

"Dance with me?"
