Chapter 19 The Wedding
Liz POV December 31, 2009 3:00pm
It's so hard to believe the day is finally here; my baby boy is getting married. Well not really, they got married 2 days ago in Vermont and tonight is more like a reception with a reenactment of the marriage ceremony. I know, I know, but what the hell else was I supposed to do. Move the entire charity event out of state just so everyone else could be there for the real thing, I think not. I was there as well as Jasper's grandparents, so all the truly important people were there to witness for them.
"Momma, you okay over there?" I hear my boy ask.
"Yes, my sweet boy, I'm just fine. Just so excited and ready for tonight. I can't wait to see Alice's reaction. It's going to be wonderful. I have a few things to do before my hair appointment at 5, so I'm heading out."
"Be good Jasper and stay out of Charles' closet." I shouted.
The last thing I need is that boy finding the hand-cuffs.
You would think someone was getting married around here. Edward and I have a room here at the hotel for the evening, and then tomorrow we are off on our honeymoon in Bora Bora. 10 days 9 nights in paradise. I can't wait to see the look on my husband's face when he realizes where we are heading. The only thing about this damn wedding Edward had no hand in what so ever. I even went as far as keeping everything a secret even from Liz, she tells that boy everything and I mean everything.
"Babe, you in there?"
"No, I'm hiding in the closet."
"Haha very funny smart ass. Why are you not dressed yet? We have people to pick up and we still have to get dressed for the event tonight. I can't wait to see the look on everyone's faces. "
"I am dressed, other arrangements have been made for the picking up and delivering of other people. You, my gorgeous husband have on far too many clothes. Let me help you out of those." I whisper into my Edward's ear knowing it will bring him to his knees and all swoony like.
I know, I know, we have somewhere to be in two hours and I know we should be hurrying, but I plan on taking my time with this beautiful man before this damn party. The most important part is over and done with, he is mine by law and nobody can change that, but tonight is all about raising funds to find a cure, showing of my hubby and the look on Alice's face.
"Babe, we don't have time for this right now. We still have to get cleaned up, dressed and downstairs before 8. You told Momma we would be dressed and waiting for her in the lobby."
"I can be quick, but the question remains can you?"
I still can't believe we are really and truly married. I mean two days ago I was a single gay man, well technically not single but you know what I mean. And today I stand here as Mr. Edward Masen Whitlock, married to the man of my dreams, the love of my life who is still refusing to get dressed. Not that I'm complaining, cause girl have you seen my man, all covered in tats and metal in places nobody else gets to see. YUMMY! But what I can wait to reveal is the new and only ink I will ever have. That's rights people, I did it, cried like a baby and had to have momma hold my hand and the trash can and the cold rag on my head. Shut up. I know I'm a wimpy, sissy ass girly man, but I did it for the man I love, NEVER again, but I survived. The best part, my Love has no idea I've had it done. Jasper and the boys, minus Seth, have been out of town for three different conventions all over the US. They've been gone a total of 4 weeks only coming home for weekends, Christmas Day and Jasper arrived in New York three days ago; just in time for our wedding.
Our wedding, let me tell you something. Our wedding was the most perfect joining of two families into one. Just Momma, Mimi and Pops were there to witness our union on the banks of Lake Champlain. Jasper looked stunning in his Jacquard Dolce and Gabbana Tuxedo Suit with that tiny bit of ink licking at his collar and me in a gorgeous Armani Peak Lapel Tuxedo staring into the eyes of my one and only promising to love, cherish, honor and respect each other til death do us part.
"Babe, where did you go?" My love asks while unwrapping his gorgeous body from mine.
"Just remembering how handsome you looked in your tux and how excited I am to be your husband. And how I can finally show you your wedding gift. Do you want it now or later?"
"NOW! I've missed these beautiful shoulders of yours, your little bubble butt walking away from me. What in the hell have you done?" he asks while his face takes on a look I have never seen before and it kinda scares me alittle.
"Please don't be angry with me. But, I did this for you because I love you and we both know you would never do it yourself, cause you would never want to cause me any pain. And Seth did it so you know it's as close to perfect as it can get." I whisper as I turn my back to him for the first time in almost five weeks.
I hear a gasp and know he has seen his gift just to the right of the dimple in my back and just below my pant line. His name in a beautiful sapphire blue ink that matches his eyes, marking me as his, just like he said all those months ago.
"Edward, baby, you did this for me? How? Why? Baby, you are scared to death of needles, why would you put yourself through this?"
"Because I love you and I wanted you to have this part of me. For you to know I will always face my biggest fears for you and with you. Now, let's get ready to party!"
You might want to get a lock for that drawer in the closet. I couldn't find my belt and Edward said to check dad's middle drawer cause that's where he kept his. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me.
