Layton paced up and down the kitchen while Flora and Luke waited with patience. All he knew was he couldn't fail again. The Professors reputation and health was at stake.
"Professor, I don't mean to hurry you--"
"No! Give me five more minutes!"
Luke blushed at Hershel's sudden outburst. This puzzle was certainly too hard for him. Flora tapped her fingers on the worktop. Layton took off his hat and wiped his forehead.
"Don't rush me! A puzzle takes time--"
"We've been waiting for an hour and a half!"
"Why don't you go first then, Luke?"
Luke nodded and took out a magnify glass, inspecting with care before picking out a piece. Layton's eyes widened, the answer was so simple now!
"Layton's apprentice saves the day!" cried Luke as Flora put the slice of cheesecake on his plate... ...Which meant Layton had the largest piece.
"That's not fair! I wanted the smallest piece!" Layton rolled on the floor like a toddler having a tantrum. Flora's home-made cheesecake was something to cry about... Especially since she always improvises.
"Professor! Go upstairs and don't come down until you can act like a responsible adult!" Flora shouted, pointing at the door. The Professor trudged up the staircase with the large slice of cheesecake, sobbing quietly.
"Tch! Children..." Flora muttered as she began washing up the dishes.
"Tell me about it!"
