AN: Well, here it is, my first JATS fic! WOOHOO! Sorry that it's superly mega short, I just wrote it up really quickly, just to see what type of response I would get. Rest assured that the future JATS fics to come from me will be much, much, much longer. Secondly, I would to thank XxRedRockerxX for sugesting the category for me, as my e-mail isn't working. Oh, and just in case you're wondering, this fic orignially came from the idea that both John Tartaglia and Natalie Venetia Belcon starred in the original Broadway production of Avenue Q. Enjoy!

Johnny truly did feel terrible for what he was about to do. He really did like Gwen, really, he did. But, after what she'd just brought up, something inside of him clicked. Something was telling him that this was all too soon, that something needed to be done.

"Johnny," She said, "You and I both know that the feelings between us are stronger than just friendship."

"Gwen," it was now or never, "I'd love to say I know what you're talking about, but I don't." he lied. "You see...I already have a girlfriend."

"You do?" She asked, "Really? How come I've never met her?"

"Well, umm, that's, well because....because she lives in Canada! yup, I have a girlfriend who lives in Canada."

"Really?" Gwen wasn't assured. She knew Johnny well enough to know when he was lying.

"Ah, yup." was his response. "And I'm sure he'd love to meet you too." He knew she wasn't falling for it. So then he began to sing:

"Ohhhh...
I wish you could meet my girlfriend, my girlfriend who lives in Canada.
She couldn't be sweeter
I wish you could meet her,
My girlfriend who lives in Canada!

Her name is Alberta
She live in Vancouver
She cooks like my mother
And sucks like a Hoover." he sang with a laugh

"I e-mail her every single day
Just to make sure that everything's okay.
It's a pity she lives so far away, in Canada!

Last week she was here, but she had the flu.
Too bad
'Cause I wanted to introduce her to you
It's so sad
There wasn't a thing that she could do
But stay in bed with her legs up over her head!
Oh!

I wish you could meet my girlfriend,
But you can't because she is in Canada.
I love her, I miss her, I can't wait to kiss her,
So soon I'll be off to Alberta!"

He then realised that he'd screwed up, that happened quite a bit when he was improvising a song.
"I mean Vancouver!" he corrected.

"Shit! Her name is Alberta, she lives in Vancouver" he muttered to himself

"She's my girlfriend!
My wonderful girlfriend!
Yes I have a girlfriend, who lives in Canada!!"

Gwen simply rolled her eyes and said "Johnny, when you're ready to really talk about how you feel, give me a call."

Johnny sighed. "Gwen, look, I really do like you, it's just, this is all too much for right now."

"Then why didn't you just say so?" She asked sincerely.

"I-..I don't know." he admitted.

"Look, Johnny, I'm fine with just being friends...for now."

"Okay, that's all I ask."

"Well Johnny, I have to get going, I have a drama rehearsal to get to."

"Oh really? What play?" he asked, now intrigued and thankful for the change in subject.

"It's a musical actually." She then looked Johnny straight in the eye and bluntly said "Avenue Q."

Johnny laughed. "So you knew?"

Gwen then joined in on the laughter, "The whole time."
