Buffy was nervous. She pulled in front of the Hyperion and put her SUV in park. She took a deep breath, mustering all her courage and opened the door.
Buffy opened the door to the Hyperion to find Angel and Cordy lounging on the red sofa, nestled in each other's arms. Suddenly, she wasn't so nervous anymore.
"Hi, Buffy," Cordelia called from her position in Angel's arms.
"Hey," she greeted the couple.
"Is this a social call or is the world about to be destroyed again?" Angel asked.
"Social," she said, sitting down across from them.
"So what brings you to Los Angeles?" Cordy asked.
"I wanted to tell Angel about--"
"About what?" Angel asked.
"Spike and I--"
"Spike and you, what?" he prompted.
Cordelia smiled. "Angel, Buffy and Spike are together."
"Oh. Well, that's good. You deserve to be happy."
Buffy sighed in relief. "What about you two?"
Angel was positively beaming. It was the first real smile Buffy'd seen on him in what seemed like forever. He held up their joined hands where a sparkling diamond adorned Cordy's left hand. "We got married yesterday."
When Buffy returned his smile, it was genuine. "Congratulations. I'm happy for you both." She paused, thinking. "What about your soul?"
"It's permanent now," Cordy told her, a look of delight crossing her features.
"Sometimes things do work out," Buffy smiled.
