Disclaimer: If I owned them, I'd be exhausted. HAPPY, but exhausted.
Drabble Challenge Word: "Lap"
Word Count: 200 words. Yeah, it's a Double Drabble. Deal with it.
Spoiler Alert: Season Five, set after the end of "The End". For sidjack, who wanted some Laughing!Dean. To quote Tina Turner, you're simply the best.
"I most certainly did."
"You took Castiel to a strip club?"
"You took an angel to a strip club?!"
"Unless we know someone else named Castiel, yes I did."
"Just when I think nothing can shock me anymore... So?"
"So what happened?"
"We did some shots, got a couple of lap dances…"
"Okay, I need to floss my brain now…"
"You asked, Sam."
Silence for a few moments as they sped down the highway.
"So what really happened, Dean?"
"Well, the phrase 'deer in the headlights' comes to mind…"
Sam grinned, which bloomed into a warm chuckle, then soared into an honest-to-goodness peal of laughter.
Dean had forgotten just how much he missed that sound. It flowed around him, soaked into his soul like rain after a drought.
His brother was laughing. His brother was happy.
His brother was here.
Beside him, where he should be.
And Dean realized he was laughing so hard tears were streaming down his face.
He pulled off to the side of the road, waited until the hysteria was wrung out of both of them, sputtering into snickers and the odd giggle.
"I-I missed you, Dean."
"Missed you too, Sammy."
