She was everything that was perfect.

Beautiful.

Kind.

Warm.

Carefree.

Open.

Bright.

Honest.

And he was everything that wasn't.

Dark.

Deceitful.

Cold.

Reserved.

Selfish.

She had the ability to captivate any man with her beauty and her charm. And she was so giving with her love. She gave freely, with a bright smile and a soft kiss; with a comforting embrace and a warm bed.

She had even him under her spell. He had always been entranced by her; by her flowing blonde hair and her dancing eyes; by her easy smile and bubbly laugh. He had always dropped everything to help her in her quest, but then he had always had the ability to leave her behind.

Now he couldn't even do that. He couldn't be away from her. She was addicting. She had tamed even him who had always considered himself an independent soul; destined to spend his days constantly moving, tied down to no one.

He only wanted to be near her; to see her face shine with her bright, easy smile and to watch as laughter bubbled forth easily from her chest. Being with her and watching her gave him hope. It gave him hope that if she could be so carefree and bright in the face of rejection from a part of her family, maybe he could one day be like that too. Maybe if he just spent enough time with her some of her lighthearted, loving spirit would rub off on him. Maybe one day he could be happy like she was.

A/N: This is my first non-Chuck/Blair story, so I hope it came out alright. I just love Carter so much and I think him and Serena really work together. He is like the older, not as good version of Chuck; like he is attractive, but not AS attractive, and he's a sexy/seductive bad boy but not AS seductive/sexy. Its almost like Chuck is Carter 2.0. hahahaha. Anyways, Carter is great and I love him...just not nearly as much as Chuck. Hope you enjoyed this little story and please please please review! Thanks
