James knew Ana's touch very well. Sometimes, he mused, it felt like he knew it too well. He knew the feel of her hair between his fingertips and the softness of her cheek beneath his lips and hands. He knew what it felt like to have her body pressed intimately against his own and the heat that would pass between their naked flesh. And he knows how it has started driving him insane to go too long without her touch.

Ana teases him because she knows she can. She mentions past lovers and her husband for the sheer pleasure of seeing jealousy burn in his eyes. She teases because she knows how much he wants to touch her. And she knows he can't. Not at that moment at any rate. And she knows he'll take all of those frustrations out on her as soon as they are alone again.

Even though its just a communication via holocom, he tries to touch her anyway. He can pretend the static that tickles the back of his fingers is the feeling of electricity that always passes between them every time they touch. And, for now, it's good enough for the both of them.
