Ok, I was eating M&Ms while doing homework when this plot bunny was bouncing around. Really simplistic, but with a deep underlying message. Hope you enjoy!

Why are there no purple M&Ms?

"Gibbs, how come there are no purple M&Ms?" The gothic young woman asks as she shifts through her Halloween candy and munching on her bag of M&Ms. It's late in the office and everyone has gone home. It is just her and her boss.

"What?" The older gruff man responds as he is sitting at his desk watching the young woman sitting on the floor next to him.

"Well, there's blue ones, red ones, green, yellow, orange even brown ones but no purple" Abby, the gothic woman and forensic scientist of the Navel Criminal Investigative Service explains. The older man, known as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, eyes soften while talking to the girl.

"I think I've seen them for Easter or something like that" The man, known to his colleagues as Gibbs says.

"Yeah, I've seen them at Wal-Mart. But only at Easter time. Why aren't they with the other colors in regular M&Ms?" Abby asks, taking a red M&M and looking at it hard with her soft green eyes.

"I don't know Abs, ask the candy company" Gibbs shrugs, going back to his paperwork. He is the only one Abby lets call her "Abs". She looks harder at the candy.

"I don't think it's fair Gibbs," She states, eating the chocolate candy piece.

"Why not?"

"Because, it's like, the purple M&M is outcast by all the other M&Ms and then can't come back to the package. The purple one can't go to the parties or the dinner get-togethers or family reunions. It only shows up once a year with the other outcast M&Ms. That's not fair Gibbs!" Abby gets up to look Gibbs in the face. He has to stop himself from laughing at the chocolate smeer on her face. So he stops doing paper work and looks at the frazzled young woman.

"What do you want me to do about it?" He asks, looking at her with his stone cold eyes.

"I don't know!" She throws her hands in the air. "Make them add the purple one in! You're Gibbs, you can do that!" Abby grew exasperated on the topic. "They have no right to cast the purple one out like that, just because it looks different then the others doesn't mean it's any less of an M&M!" Abby growls. "No, it should have all the rights the other M&Ms have! To be eaten anytime of the year! I'm going to write a letter to the candy companies." Abby huffs and sits back down next to Gibbs's desk.

"I'm sure you'll win." Gibbs smiles, the young woman humoring him. Her words, though together make her sound hysterical, have a deep meaning in them. A meaning Gibbs himself would have to agree with.
