Cordelia glared at Angel from her position on the sofa, not bothering to hide her irritation.
"Good afternoon, Cordy," he greeted her cheerfully. Too cheerfully from Cordy's perspective.
"What's so good about?" she growled.
Angel looked at her for a moment while he decided on a plan of action. Walking over to her, he knelt down in front of her. "What's wrong?"
"You wouldn't understand," she told him.
"You're male," she answered, her face contorted in pain.
Angel didn't say anything, just walked into the bathroom where he retrieved pain medication and a heating pad. From there, he walked into the kitchen to get her favorite snack.
Angel returned to Cordy's side. He held a glass of water and the Midol. She took them and swallowed them, not saying a word. He handed her the heating pad, which she gratefully took with a small smile in spite of herself.
He sat down beside her and handed her a bowl. She looked at him in surprise. "You brought me Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream?" she asked.
He nodded. "Yeah. It's your favorite."
Cordy leaned over and kissed him softly. "Thank you."
"You're welcome, my love."
Cordy leaned her head on his shoulder as she ate her ice cream, suddenly feeling better despite the pain she still felt. I really do have the best love, she thought as Angel wrapped his arm around her, pulling her against his chest as she continued to eat. He always knows exactly what I need even when I don't. "I love you, Angel."
"And I love you, Cordy."
