I gave the teen a death glare. "Would you stop staring at me?" I whispered acid in my tone. He looked ahead, his body rippling with chuckles. Immature jerk…
"Miss…... the new student? Kura-"The teacher began, but I cut him off and said my name.
"Okay. Miss Michiko."
"What does your name mean?" he asked, ignoring my rude attitude.
"Kurayami means child of darkness and I'm not going to tell you what my last name means."
"Child of Darkness. Why did your parents name you after that?" he asked, being a little nosy prick.
"None of your business. Why did your parents name you Barry?" I asked, looking back down at the book when he gave me a bad look.
"I'll see you after class, child of darkness." He said, looking at his book while he did so. "Do you at least have your homework done?"
"Yes sir." I said through gritted teeth, because now everybody was staring at me.
"Good." He said, scribbling something on the chalk board.
"Crap." I said under my breath.
The fool of a teacher turned away, and I put my head down on my desk. Something hit my head; it felt like paper.
I didn't hesitate. I reached out and grabbed it right before it hit the ground. I opened it up, and read it. This is elementary…
You have sass, Kerayami. I like it. We all like it. Would you care to join our little, err… group? It would be fantastic to have you as a member. The address where we will be having a meeting at is 749 Welty DR. Just jump over the wooden fence to your left. Don't worry; it isn't very tall at all. Well, whatever your decision might be, write it down on this exact piece of paper, and then hand it to the nerd at your left. Well, as you know, the nerd to your left did not give this to you, because it came from your right. Yes, I think things through.
What the heck is this crap about, Sass? A secret group and using childish names like Black Viper?
*sigh* whatever. I'll check it out anyway.
Mmm… Black Viper… I've considered your proposition thoroughly, and, I've accepted. But, I feel the obligation to warn you. If I do not like what my eyes behold, I will walk away without giving you a second glance, and when I arrive, expect questions. That is all I have to say to you.
I folded up the paper, and looked up at the teacher. He still had his back turned to the class. I squeezed the note in my hand. I looked over at the nerd, who was actually writing down the notes on the board. I took a glance around the room, and everyone else was snickering and whispering among themselves. I stared at the clock. I only had five minutes left of class time; I'll just give it to him at the end of class. If the teacher found this, anyway, I wouldn't explain it to him but I know that the nerd would.
I don't want to make the impression on the teacher that I am a freak. The bell rang, and I shoved the note in the nerd's chest when the teacher looked away.
"Thanks!" he exclaimed in a very nerdy voice.
"Gus!" he called and I smiled. Black Viper… a.k.a Gus.
