A/N: Please forgive me if this fic sucks. It is my first attempt at a Veronica's Closet piece.
Anybody who has watched the show knows that Josh Blair is gay. He has been in denial since the show began and ultimately ended up coming out at his wedding to Chloe. During the first season, toward the end Veronica took on a silent partner Millie who was somewhat of an older woman (maybe by 20 or so years) and one day comes on to Josh who immediately rejects her. Millie realizes that the young man she desires is gay and calls him on it. Young Josh, in denial laughs at the notion and ends up sleeping with her four times….. Killing her in the process. (Who knew a gay guy could be that good with a woman – apparently she thought he was wonderful)
Fast forward to his relationship with Chloe… after months of putting it off Chloe surprises him one day…
Josh entered his apartment after a long day at the office. Ronnie had him doing things way beyond his job description which sadly he actually enjoyed to some extent. He looked around the room and smelled candles burning and sighed. Oh god tonight's the night. She's been badgering me about it for the longest time and finally she got me to agree. Why is this so hard… she's my fiancée for goodness sake.
"Josh, I'm waiting…" Chloe called.
He shrugged off his jacket and joined his fiancée in the bedroom. Josh saw Chloe in her negligee and gulped. I'm not ready for this yet.
"Josh! Now" she demanded.
Nervously he joined her in bed and she rolled her eyes as he just lay there. "You want me to make the first move?" she asked sarcastically.
Chloe began to kiss him to which he did react but not in the desirable way that she would have wanted. The moment he began kissing her he saw Millie's face. He got up out of the bed and ran screaming out of the room.
"Why does that man scream like a girl?" she said shaking her head.
She wrapped herself in a robe and went to the living room where she saw Josh with his head buried in his hands.
She felt sympathy for him and wondered if she was his first…which was why he was so nervous.
"I am so sorry Chloe, I-I didn't mean to do that, it's just …" he began and groaned.
"Am I your first?"
Josh blushed. "Um no" he replied but did not elaborate.
"Look at me Josh! You have to be honest with me if I'm going to be your wife!"
He looked at her and sighed. "A few years ago – we had a silent partner at Veronica's closet, her name was Millie, she was a little older and began to come on to me. I um rejected her and she accused me of being um gay so I – uh gave her a night she'd never forget."
"Are you still in love with her, is that it?" Chloe demanded.
"Um no .. I uh."
"Was she the one who called a few days ago and you hung up on?"
"No that was Ronnie, she wanted me to do something for her well beyond the call of duty."
"Do you want me to call Millie and tell her that you're engaged."
"That's gonna be a little tough… "
"In the um throes of passion, I uh she uh is no longer with us."
Chloe put her hand to her mouth. "Oh my god!"
"Yea that was my thought. What's worse is that during the funeral, I spilled it to her mother what happened!"
"Wouldn't they have already told her?"
"They told her Millie fell down the stairs!"
"Josh it's ok."
"No it is not Ok Chloe – uh when we were in there a few minutes ago when we began to kiss, I saw HER face!"
Chloe shook her head. "You certainly have issues. I'll set you up with someone that you can talk to regarding this issue. Josh I want you to dazzle me on my wedding night so … we gotta get some practice!"
