Title: Love conquers all

Nick/Cassie

Cassie was walking home from Diana's just as the sun was setting. She had spent the whole day talking to Diana and was subjected to seeing the sadness in Diana's eyes over losing her sweetheart, Adam. Even though Diana was smiling a lot and putting on a cheery disposition, Cassie could tell she was miserable. It had hurt Cassie to see her "older sister" so brokenhearted, so she had dumped Adam the night before. Adam was cool with it and Cassie felt relieved when they broke up. Don't ask why, she just did.

Cassie was so caught up in her thoughts, she completely lost track of where she was going. When she looked up, she found herself staring at Nick Armstrong's house. Cassie smiled a wicked grin. Nick was always so aloof and cold. In the beginning, Cassie found him unapproachable, but she now realized that her assumptions had been invalid. He was charming, hilarious, handsome, and sweet(when he wanted to be).

'It wouldn't hurt just to go in and say hi.' Cassie thought. 'I mean after all we are friends.' Cassie walked into Nick's garage and found him under his car. Wordlessly, Cassie crept over to Nick, grabbed his feet, and jerked him from underneath his car. Nick looked up at her, surprised.

"Hi?" Nick said, or rather asked.

"Hey," Cassie smirked. Nick just silently looked back at her, a thousand questions in his eyes.

"What's the matter, Nick? Cat got your tongue?"

Nick grinned mischievously at her. "Nah. I'm just wondering why your on top of me when you have a boyfriend." Cassie blushed. "Adam and I broke up." "Oh, well. You were too good for him anyway. Now, about the fact that your still on top of me…." "Sorry," Cassie murmured, and was about to get off of him when he caught her waist and pulled her back on top of him.

"I didn't say I didn't like it. You are so oblivious to your sex appeal. It's kind of a turnoff when girls are so naïve about their about how they look." Cassie stuck out her tongue at him, but he promptly caught her tongue between his teeth. He drew her close and started kissing her passionately, fiercely. When they pulled back, they were both breathless and panting.

Nick got up, and went to the storage room in the garage. He pulled out two blankets, three comforters, and two pillows. As soon as he spread all of the contents on the floor he went back over to Cassie, picked her up, and laid her down on the 'bed'. "Nick, I don't think-" "Do you trust me, Cassie?" Cassie nodded. "Do you love me?" Again, she nodded.

"Then relax. I'm not going to force you into anything your not comfortable with or that you might regret. I love you. I won't hurt you and I won't let anything else hurt you, either. You just have to believe in that. Believe in me," Nick whispered, softly.

"I already do," Cassie said, breathlessly. "I love you, too."

That night, something magical happened. Something that neither Nick nor Cassie will ever forget. That night, their bond grew stronger than ever.
